This one features a long time Batman rogue. Post Crisis - Dr. Victor Fries learns his wife , Nora has a terminal illness and freezes her to work on a cure. Using more or less the Paul Dini tragic origin from the Batman : The Animated Series , the post Crisis version of Mr.Freeze became a rogue only after his wife contacted a terminal illness . After an accident and her death (she was shattered in the ice form) , Fries would become Mr. Freeze and face Batman many times. Post Flashpoint - Dr. Victor Fries , learns a woman named Nora has a terminal illness and was frozen as he works on a cure. In the post Flashpoint reboot origin of Fries , he no longer was married to Nora. In fact she was a woman frozen back in the 1930's who had a terminal illness and who Fries falls in love with while working at Wayne Tech. Bruce Wayne realizes this unhealthy obsession and Fries throws a chair that recreates the accident that made him who he is .

This one features a supporting cast member for years in Superman. Post Crisis - Morgan Edge is a white ruthless business man . Morgan Edge as a character has existed before the Post Crisis and had an evil clone that was connected to Intergang. The owner of WGBS. In the Post Crisis DCU , Edge was made the leader as a ruthless businessman. He would return many times over the years even after the fall of Intergang. Post Flashpoint - Morgan Edge is a black ruthless business man. In the post Flashpoint DCU , Morgan Edge is now a black business man. He owns WGBS and has bought the Daily Planet (shades of the Pre-Crisis) . A back story showed that Edge was a sponsor of the Challengers of the Unknown program . They all quit due to his ruthless business strategy.

This change removed a long standing couple. Pre/Post Crisis - Green Arrow (Oliver Queen) and Black Canary (Dinah Lance) have been an on/off couple for years. Whenever someone would mention Oliver Queen , his relationship with Dinah Lance was quickly mentioned. Dinah in the Pre-Crisis left Earth 2 to live with Oliver Queen. The 2 would then have a very on and off relationship the next 40 years. Where even when Ollie did wrong , somehow he would get back to his "pretty bird" . The relationship would end up in a marriage that didn't last long . Post Flashpoint - Green Arrow (Oliver Queen) and Black Canary (Dinah Lance) have never been a couple. Oliver Queen and Dinah Lance have never been a couple in the new post Flashpoint DCU. In fact Dinah married Kurt Lance , a fellow secret agent. The 2 were a part of Team 7 , set 5 years ago.

This one concerns a revamped Superman rogue who recently showed up in the New 52 against someone not many would expect. Post Crisis - Oswald Loomis is a former host of a Kids TV show who was fired and became the Prankster. The Prankster has been around for over 70 years. His pre-Crisis history isn't as detailed but in the Post Crisis he was a former host of a kids show on WGBS who was fired by Morgan Edge. The Prankster would clash a few times with Superman as his schemes were built around killer pranks. They became more high tech as time passed. Post Flashpoint - Oswald Loomis watched his parents die on Halloween , and became the Prankster to get revenge. In Chicago the mayor , Mayor Cole in his much younger days caused the death of Loomis parents. The young son vowed revenge against him for this and recently clashed with Nightwing.

This one involves what allows a character to have his powers. Pre/Post Crisis - Hawkman has Nth Metal that allows him to fly , enhances strength and more. Hawkman's Nth metal is a metal found on the planet Thanagar. It allows Hawkman to fly , helps him heal and enhances his strength when he wears it. Post Flashpoint - Hawkman's Nth Metal allows him to fly , enhances his strength and more. And is also alive. Hawkman's Nth Metal in the Post Flashpoint DCU allows him to fly and more. But it also surprisingly comes alive and bonds with Hawkman ...protecting him.

I remember reading Crisis on Infinite Earths a few years back and being confused/bored through all 12 issues I think it was. I've learned a lot regarding writing and read more comics since then though. I think I should go back and read it.

This one actually involves an Aquaman rogue... Post Crisis - Black Manta had 2 origins where as a kid he blamed Aquaman . For years Black Manta never had an origin . But it was under Peter David that change and the early 1990's Aquaman series. In this series , the man who would become Black Manta was a young boy who loved to play by Chesapeake Bay in Baltimore , Maryland. He was kidnapped and sexually abused on a ship . He saw Aquaman out in the sea with dolphins but couldn't get him to hear his pleas. Eventually he learned to defend himself and killed one of the tormentors. He would blame the emotionless sea and Aquaman for this. The next origin was a decade later as the young boy grew up autistic and sent to Arkham Asylum who always would watch Aquaman. A doctor proposed a mind treatment to help heal the boy from his issues (he felt comfortable in freezing cold water and hated sheets on him) but instead the treatment made the boy violent . Killing the doctor the boy asked and would grow to hate Aquaman. Post Flashpoint - In a new origin as a kid , Black Manta blames Aquaman. In the new origin , Black Manta blames Aquaman for the death of his father. In that Aquaman went to stop Manta's father from attacking his father. Accidently killing him. Black Manta swore revenge that he would kill Aquaman's entire family.

This one just happened and is a heck of a situation change from the comics. Post Crisis - Clark Kent reveals he is Superman to Lois Lane.
In the Post Crisis , Lois Lane & Clark Kent got engaged. Clark knew that he loved Lois and that he had to reveal who he was. So in Action Comics #662 , he shocked Lois by revealing that he was in fact ...Superman. This change was big at time and people would joke...for an investigative reporter , Lois sure didn't seem to do her homework well on Superman. Post Flashpoint - Lois Lane learns Clark Kent is Superman . In the post Flashpoint DCU , Lois Lane and Clark Kent aren't dating. In the conclusion of Psi War , Superman is getting beaten badly by the Psycho Pirate. His mind is weakened and he lays in a near coma. Lois herself has been given some power as a result of her investigation. She herself in a coma , Lois comes and helps him recover. At the end of this storyline , she reveals she knows Clark Kent is Superman as she goes back into a coma.

I decided to wait a few months and give some time to do more of these. Well folks its time for the return of Post Flashpoint changes to the DCU ! Pre/Post Crisis - Lana Lang as a teenager and adult had feelings for Clark Kent . Lana Lang in the Pre/Post Crisis had romantic feelings towards Clark Kent. She would for years even show up in Metropolis as a rival for Clark's affections to Lois Lane. Eventually when the bronze era of DC Comics began the writers shifted her to a job at WGBS to work across from Clark Kent as a TV reporter. This would last til the very end of the era . In the Post Crisis DCU , they changed things up a bit more. Lana still had feelings for Clark Kent as a teenager and as an adult . She would eventually stay in Smallville and become Pete Ross wife. The 2 would have children and she would even become his 1st lady when Ross became President of the United States. Her last job was CEO of Lexcorp when Lex Luthor went to jail which brought her to Metropolis finally for good. Post Flashpoint - Lana Lang has a job outside Metropolis Unlike in years past when Lana Lang had feelings for Clark as an adult still , the current Lana doesn't seem to. She took a job as an Electrical Engineer traveling the globe. Its Clark who still has feelings for her it seems and she was recently re-introduced in Greg Pak's "Action Comics" run.

Well after 2-3 weeks I have decided to start these again. Lets go ahead and start these up. I plan to do a new one every 2-3 weeks to keep them fresh and all. And not rush them out. This one concerns a classic character who has a long history in comics and Superman . Post Crisis - Lex Luthor created Bizarro and deems him a failure . In the Post Crisis DCU , Lex Luthor would decide to create his own Superman. The experiment was a failure and Luthor would order that Bizarro be destroyed. Instead the imperfect duplicate would try and mirror Superman and do everything wrong. Superman would end up destroying the 1st Bizarro duplicate but Luthor's wife would end up cloning a 2nd one that also died. Finally the Bizarro that actually survived the longest and wasn't a clone was a being created by The Joker when he stole the powers of Mxyzptlk. Post Flashpoint - Lex Luthor would use his Bizarro duplicate. Lex Luthor would of course try and create a Superman he could control. In his 1st attempt the man he injects with the half Kryptonian DNA turns into a horrible creature and has no real control. Luthor realizing this creature is beyond his control has him terminated in his lab. 5 years later and as the Crime Syndicate are taking over the world , Luthor unleashes a clone he has grown . This one is more child like and at first Luthor is less than happy. But he decides to use the creature to help him save Earth. Over time Luthor becomes like a father to Bizarro and when he is destroyed in Forever Evil #7 Luthor in anger tells Captain Cold on why he's hurt over Bizarro's death , "He was My Monster !" Luthor at the end decides to clone another Bizarro .

I thought there were some almost touching Lex Luthor moments in Forever Evil #7. I kind of like that the name Bizarro comes from the clone trying to pronounce Subject B-Zero.

Since I don't read the DCU anymore, I rely on you SuperE Same here, though it depresses me to see how some of my favorite characters have been changed in the new continuity.
