I think this thread would be a good one due to the fact for 20+ years a lot of us followed the Post Crisis DCU. We would read and follow the adventure of heroes and what happened. There was quite a number of changes made Post Crisis for sure compared to the Pre-Crisis . A lot has been explained. But not many have sit down and discussed all the changes. So in this thread...lets do it like this... Post Crisis DCU - The Kent's are alive ! Back in the 1980's John Byrne kept the Kent's alive due to the fact he wanted his Superman to have someone as a sounding board. To have him talk to his parents over issues. It was considered one of the best things Byrne did on the books. Because the parents played such a big role in the comics , it expanded to TV (Lois & Clark) and more. For that generation , Superman would fly Lois to the farm , help his dad with some farm work , get some advice from and then fly back. It was the type of nice things you'd picture the Man of Steel doing. Even when Jonathon Kent died in the comics a few years ago , Martha still stayed around to give advice and be there for her foster son. In the Man of Steel movie , the writers seemed to keep this development around. Post Flashpoint - The Kent's die from an auto accident. In the pre-Crisis the Kent's were killed by a incurable disease and that Superman even with all his powers couldn't save them. It was a tragic loss of losing the elderly foster parents. Now younger still , Clark wasn't there to save them from an auto accident . Just before his career as Superman starts. It was a heck of a big change for the new 52 DCU. This Superman was now alone and without a sounding board. Leaving himself to carry what his parents taught him like before . Also unlike the Post Crisis DCU , Martha Kent never stitched the costume Superman would wear as we saw. She never would see her foster son don a costume to be a superhero.

This one Is another change and involved supporting characters in the DCU. Post Crisis - Stephanie Brown , daughter of Cluemaster ! Brown would debut in the 1990's as the daughter of the Cluemaster. Inspired by Robin more or less she would take the name "The Spoiler" and go on to have quite a run as a supporting player and love interest in Robin. Over time Stephanie would become Robin herself for a brief time and sadly die in a horrible storyline. She would be revived a few years later by Chuck Dixon and return as The Spoiler. But the biggest achievement for Stephanie Brown was becoming Batgirl. In 2009 when the Bat-books were getting revamps and new characters were stepping into new roles , Stephanie Brown became the new Batgirl . It wasn't without some controversy but in this , she had grew a fanbase. Post Flashpoint - Stephanie Brown has never existed. Gone is Stephanie Brown. In fact it appears she has never existed in the post Flashpoint DCU. This ones pretty recent but here ya go...and pretty radical change. Pre/Post Crisis DC - Richard Dragon - Hero/Sensi
Richard Dragon started as a former thief who stumbled into learning his true potential. Trained to be the best martial artist in the world , Dragon would use his skills for good. He'd also over the next few decades train various heroes in the martial arts from The Question (Vic Sage) to the Huntress. As time passed he'd also get his own short lived mid 2000 series which showcased his origin some more and close relationship with Shiva. Post Flashpoint - Richard Dragon is a Mob Boss The new Richard Dragon that shows up in Green Arrow #23 isn't your daddies Richard Dragon. In fact he's as far from that character as possible. The new Dragon details how he owns various mob interests in the final pages of that series and is now in Seattle. He throws one mob guy out a window to showcase he is taking over the city ! Symbolizing that this Richard Dragon is now a villain.

Here is one that is a few months old. But Involves the Flash. Pre/Post Crisis - Barry's arch villain is the Reverse Flash ; Eobard Thawne . For years the big villain that Barry Allen would face was Eobard Thawne. The rogue was the Reverse of Barry and came from the 25th Century. The Reverse Flash also had a thing for Iris Allen , Barry's wife and in a sad moment ended up killing her. Thawne also went to kill Barry's future wife and the scene above is a redone version of where Barry has to take Thawne's life to save her. Even after Barry was gone Thawne would still return later to get some revenge when Wally West had taken the Flash mantle. Post Flashpoint - Barry has never encountered the Reverse Flash til now. I believe this is a result of Flashpoint more or less. In that series Thawne died while on a Earth that never existed. Hence once Barry managed to return and changes happened , one of them was the existence of the Reverse Flash. Since he passed away on that world , he was blinked out like everyone else. Because right now Barry has never faced any Reverse Flash til now. In the issue he is surprised to face this new rogue who is an evil version of himself and the speed force. It also isn't Thawne.

Also here is another change.... and this one involves Green Arrow (Oliver Queen) DC Post Crisis - Oliver Queen and Shado had a child together Shado was once trained by and used by the Yakuza. Once she ran into Oliver Queen that changed and she soon developed feelings for him. The 2 would meet up in the Longbow Hunters and soon team up at times. Eventually she would have a child with Oliver who claims she seduced him while he had a fever. Ollie was also older than Shado as well and in his mid 40's when Mike Grell wrote him . Post Flashpoint - Oliver Queen's dad Robert fathered a child with Shado
In the recent issues of Green Arrow by Jeff Lemire , Ollie goes to a foreign country and saves Shado from Count Vertigo. Its revealed there that Oliver's father , Robert was the one who had the child with Shado. Also in the post Flashpoint DCU , Shado is older than Oliver Queen as well .

Here is one for an old unique character who has been around for nearly 50 years. Pre/Post Crisis - The Creeper was created by a scientist that gave Jack Ryder powers. The back story of The Creeper has always been that Jack Ryder was a struggling TV reporter who found a scientist named , Dr. Yatz who was working on a special serum in his lab. The lab gets attacked by some mobsters with Ryder there. As Ryder gets injured , the doctor injects him with the serum and it increases his strength and more. He also is able to heal from any injury and gets the unique Creeper look. Over the years the Creeper origin never really changed much from this. Jack Ryder would become a supporting character in Detective Comics awhile and be seen with a variety of heroes as time passed. Post Flashpoint - The Creeper is a demon entity that attaches to Jack Ryder's body . In the post Flashpoint DCU , Jack Ryder dies during an attack on Metropolis. However an ancient demonic entity goes into Ryder's body reviving him from death. Keeping him alive to have as much evil fun as possible . Which Jack Ryder has no clue about and is the 1st on scene to report whatever tragedy or violence that has happened.

Here is another one involving a Superman rogue. DC Post Crisis - Cyborg Superman was Hank Henshaw who personally blamed Superman. The Cyborg Superman was Hank Henshaw . In his anger over his wife and friends death during a doomed Lexcorp flight that parodied the Fantastic Four , Henshaw blamed Superman. Soon his mind was able to construct a near Cyborg version of Superman and he acted like the Man of Steel awhile til the real one returned and ended his evil scheme. Henshaw would return numerous times over the next 2 decades . Post Flashpoint - The Cyborg Superman is Zor-El , brother of Jor-El This version of the Cyborg Superman was created by Brianiac when he found the discovered the city of Argo destroyed and one survivor. Who he felt was the strongest. Zor-El was in the shadow of his brother , the genius Jor-El. During his origin Jor-El begs Zor-El to build rockets and send as many as possible to Earth. Zor-El refuses believing Earth is a planet of barbarians and tries to use his own plan to save Argo. Brianiac remakes Zor-El with a belief only the strongest can be adapted and made better. That is the new Cyborg Superman's goal.

This one is one that many have taken pitchforks to. But here we go... Pre/Post Crisis - Wonder Woman was formed from clay by her mother . In the Pre/Post Crisis DCU , the Wonder Woman origin was that she was molded from clay by her mother Hippolyta , Queen of the Amazons. The Greek Pantheon bestowed the gifts of strength , flight and more onto her as a baby. There she would grow up to be Princess Diana . Post Flashpoint - Wonder Woman is the daughter of Zeus .
In this shocking twist , Hippolyta reveals to her daughter that she was not formed from clay. That she was in fact born from a union with the God Zeus and her. That they kept it a secret from her to protect her from Zeus jealous wife Hera.

This ones pretty well known. Post Crisis - The Justice League was founded by Batman , Superman , Black Canary , Green Lantern , Flash , Aquaman and Martian Manhunter Now this ones pretty well ..a convoluted story. When the Justice League of America 1st founded and had their 1st Pre-Crisis adventure ...Wonder Woman was a part of their history. In fact even in this issue of Justice League #1 , they seem to accept the Pre-Crisis history and have Justice League Detroit and how the Martian Manhunter says good-bye in a way. Anyhow this was retconned later and the founding 1st team of the JLA was the lineup I posted above. With the Black Canary taking Wonder Woman's spot . This was later over-turned in the 2000's with Wonder Woman back as a founding member. Post Flashpoint - The Justice League was founded by Batman , Superman , Aquaman , Wonder Woman , Green Lantern , Flash and Cyborg. In the post Flashpoint DCU , this was the Justice League when it was 1st founded . They all came together for the 1st real adventure to save the world from Darkseid's invasion. They removed Martian Manhunter as a founding member in the reboot. Even though he joined much later. Cyborg took Martian Manhunter's spot in this retcon. Removing him from being a founding member of the Titans.

This was another big change. And one critiqued til fans grew to some accepting it. Post Crisis - The Justice Society of America was the 1st heroes and reformed later.
In the Pre-Crisis DCU , The Justice Society of America was on Earth 2. They would have many adventures with the Earth 1 heroes of the Justice League of America. In the Post Crisis , the JSA was pushed back into Earth 1's history and they were considered the 1st heroes. This caused a lot of headaches early on but by the late 1990's DC had a long running JSA title as well as the revamped Justice Society of America title that ran til 2011. Which featured a mix of the next generation of heroes and long standing ones like Green Lantern (Alan Scott) , Wildcat and Flash. Post Flashpoint - The Justice Society slowly forms on Earth 2 This one caused a lot of controversy when DC announced this title . In the Post Flashpoint DCU , there are now multiple Earth's again and on Earth 2 , the long established heroes of Batman , Superman and Wonder Woman have died sacrificing themselves to stop Darkseid's invasion. New heroes like Jay Garrick (Flash) , Alan Scott (Green Lantern) and Kendra Saunders (Hawkgirl) emerge to save the world from Grundy. These new heroes on Earth 2 are considered "Wonders" for what they can do.

This one change is pretty funny . Involving a DC character who has existed for years . Pre/Post Crisis - The Uncle Sam in the DC Universe is the traditional iconic image we all know. Uncle Sam and the Freedom Fighters existed in both the Pre and Post Crisis DCU . Sam is the "spirit of America" and as long as America is around , Uncle Sam draws his strength from it. Post Flashpoint - The new Uncle Sam isn't the traditional iconic image we all know. In the new 52 , the leader of the Freedom Fighters , member of S.H.A.D.E is in fact the new Uncle Sam. He is in fact an African American and comparisons to Samuel Jackson has started.

This one I read today and I gotta admit...its a unique play on who this character once was. Pre/Post Crisis - Mark Shaw became a Manhunter and bounty hunter for super villains. Mark Shaw's pre/post Crisis history basically never changed. He was a public defender who stumbled onto the Manhunter sect and became part of it. He also became a hero and villain at the same time as the Privateer and Shar-Tsar . He later donned his most successful mantle when he became Manhunter and started hunting costumed villains for bounty . He'd have quite a few adventures as that. Post Flashpoint - Mark Shaw is still a Manhunter in a sense.... Mark Shaw is still a Manhunter in a sense as he's a US Marshall who hunts down the most dangerous fugitives. Given the case of hunting down The Cheetah , Shaw jokes that this could be the death of him. This one was in Wonder Woman 23.1 (The Cheetah villains issue).

Since there is now a John Constantine tv series in development at NBC (which if its like Hellblazer it will be the most fucking awesome show on TV) , This one concerns everyone's favorite con man . Post Crisis/Vertigo - John Constantine has had his trench coat for years as part of his look. When you see John Constantine his trade mark cigarette and trench coat is a part of his look. For nearly 30 years Constantine has owned and wore his trench coat as he learned magic. The coat itself has a bit of Constantine's aura and in fact in a Milligan story in 2010/2011 the coat has taken a bit of the evil and magic itself . And only Constantine can keep it in check. Post Flashpoint - John Constantine didn't own the trench coat originally. In the post Flashpoint DCU , Constantine's earliest appearances before Vertigo was wiped out. In the new timeline that DC has done , John Constantine knew a little magic but came to New York to learn from Nick Necro. Who had learned under Zatara and Baron Winters. Its there that not only did Constantine learn he also took Necro's girlfriend Zatanna and his trench coat. This was revealed in Justice League Dark #0.

This one raised a lot of controversy in 2011 and you would laugh about it. This change was perhaps not a big one as a whole...just physically. Post Crisis - Amanda Waller (In charge of Suicide Squad) is an overweight woman. Nicknamed "The Wall" for her size and personality with dealing with costumed villains during Suicide Squad , Amanda Waller was the tough , take no shit leader. A former Congressional aide and Government agent , Waller rose through the ranks of what would become Checkmate. Post Flashpoint - Amanda Waller (In charge of Suicide Squad) is a in shape woman. Post Flashpoint , Amanda Waller is now a very in shape woman who runs the Suicide Squad program by being a tough , take no shit demeanor . Waller was a high ranked soldier and part of Team 7 . Its after her service that she proposed the Suicide Squad program.

This has a unique twist on a rogue... Pre/Post Crisis - Crystal Frost accidentally locked herself in a thermafrost chamber and managed to survive .
Frost was a gifted student at Hudson University who fell in love with her teacher Martin Stein. When Stein didn't have the same feelings , she accidentally got super powers and became Killer Frost. After her death and in the Post Crisis DCU , Louise Lincoln became the new Killer Frost and repeated the process to avenge her friends death. Post Flashpoint - Caitlin Snow was locked in the thermafrost chamber and managed to survive . In the post Flashpoint DCU , Snow was a gifted scientist for S.T.A.R Labs and took a job in the Arctic station. Once there Snow's genius had her fix a previous scientists machine and her colleagues working forr H.I.V.E locked her in the thermafrost chamber to kill her. Instead she survived and became Killer Frost.
