As we all rotate around the earth for another year, I have a birthday coming up... so might as well make this fun. This week's feature is 1975. Find a comic cover from my birth year 1975. You can find them all here: www.mikesamazingworld.com/mikes/features/newsstand.phpThe rules of the game: - Post one classic cover that fits the theme of the contest. - Cover must be from a published comic book or collected volume published before June 2009. - Covers must be posted before voting begins. - Voting takes place on Tuesday, July 2nd, beginning at 12:01am PST and ending at 11:59 pm PST. - Vote by posting the name of the poster whose cover best fits the theme or that you simply like the most. - Put your choice's name in bold. - The winner of the contest is the entrant with the most votes after the voting period ends. - The winner chooses the theme for the next week's contest. - If you don't think the cover fits the theme, don't vote for it; please don't post disparaging remarks about it. - If a cover is more recent than the classic time frame, kindly point it out so that the poster can choose an alternate before voting begins. Have fun everyone!

There are maybe five good covers on DC Comics that year. (Thanks, Ernie.) Lucky for us that Gil Kane was in his Marvel Comics cover heyday, here inked by Bernie Wrightson.

There are maybe five good covers on DC Comics that year. (Thanks, Ernie.) Really? 'Cause I'm seeing more than five covers done by Aparo alone, to say nothing of a number of beauties by Wrightson, Kaluta, etc. And to be honest, a few of the covers by Ernie aren't that bad either...

And then you were frozen in a block of ice in May 1975 and revived just now? Bonus (not an entry, just 'cause):

Man, even when I restricted myself to covers of comics that are both cover-dated and went on sale in 1975, it was still tough to narrow it down. So many nice covers that year, to say nothing of sentimental favorites, since that was the first year I began reading comics.
