I was 11 in 1975 and over that summer, I started reading super-hero comics regularly, i.e. three or four a month, instead of just buying a few comics every year. Here's what I started with:  Is this a Gil Kane Cover? Absolutely. Inks by Giacoia. |

Here's what I started with:[Jungle Action #17, The Black Panther] Very similar to my situation and that was one of my first as well, though in my case I was 13 and was coming back to comics after having been away from them for 2 or 3 years. |

There’s dozens of good covers but I try not to pick obvious fan favorites. Yeah, maybe it's because I feel a special nostalgia for this particular year in comics, but skimming through Mike's news-stand for 1975, I found at least 2 or 3 each month that I could have picked, so probably 25 to 30 or more for the year. Though I agree in general that Marvel.s house style of cover wasn't as strong in the early to mid 70s as it had been in the late 60s. |
