Nice story , Rom. Man, the 75 year old was a good shot. Yeah , those 5 were up to no good. I believe you should be able to shoot someone entering your home with bad intentions. Actually, you can do this, if done properly it seems. You can legally shoot anyone if they have crossed the threshold (doorway or window) into your home and you feel physically threatened. I'm not one to consider this and am seriously hoping the motion sensor lights and indoor alarms provide a major solution to my problem. Looking to the bright side of the theft: I now have a MAJOR hole in my comics collecting as I can choose to work on trying to refill while being "particular" in what I choose to reacquire. Do I or don't I is the question now. For the most part I am kind of "over" the NEED TO GET/COLLECT mode as much of what was taken comic book wise simply sat in the long boxes and wasn't being read. I truly believe any purchases of classics will be in TPB/Omnibus (partially due to pricing) while single issues will focus upon seeking out the oddities and things I never collected during my youthful days. I am quite enjoying this year my decision to hunt out cheap/older war and western comic books. More of my buys will be through Amazon and internet for things I knew of or had a taste of but never could afford when young. Like collections of Newspaper Strips of the past. Very much would like to acquire me some Tarzan, Flash Gordon, The Phantom, Mandrake the Magician, Terry and the Pirates, Prince Valiant, Johnny Hazard and others.

Listen up: it seems like my earlier in-thread warning about keeping this discussion on-topic and not getting sidetracked into a protracted and hostile discussion on crime and punishment has fallen on deaf ears. I've just had to delete two replies that both crossed the line in terms of using a combative and hostile tone towards one another, which, lest we forget, is against the forum rules.
Please, keep this discussion on the topic of the awful things that have been happening to brutalis, without debating the pros or cons of the American judicial system and/or insulting one another or this thread will be locked.
Thank you.

Pm me a list of what you are going to rebuy, maybe I have TPb's that I can send you.

Update: A friend text me Saturday that a worker at his job (another hospital in Scottsdale) told him Friday that there was 10 white long boxes of comics at a Savers used/resale store up on 27th avenue and Bethany Home Road which he saw earlier in the week. My friend stopped by there on his way home Friday to look over the boxes and see if they were mine. Was a false alarm as they were NOT any of the comics taken from my home. They were all VERY USED and TORN UP and lots of cover-less comics and mostly newer within the last 3 -5 years.
Still no contact from the local Phoenix Police department. The officer who came by said the Detective/Property Crimes Bureau would follow up in 2-3 days and of course as I expected there has been absolutely NO CALL OR FOLLOW UP from them. I have called a few times to see if there is any information with the case # I was given and received no call backs as it goes straight through to an automated system and you leave your report # and phone #.
Still no reports from the legitimate comic/collector shops of anyone attempting to sell off a "large" collection of comics or action figures or Funko Pop's. Of course that doesn't mean that anyone smart enough hasn't been in trying to sell singularly or in a small group to avoid suspicion. Glendale out here on the west side has quite a lot of "antique/collector" as well as "thrift" shops though, and I just don't have the time or energy to run around checking them all.
I assumed most properly it seems, to never find or catch or the thief(s) or have any of my property returned. Thankfully nothing new has been occurring around my home or in the neighborhood over the the last month. Which doesn't mean I plan on going anywhere or being away from home at night If I can avoid doing so. And still every noise at night awakens me abruptly with the heart racing and a chill down my spine. Sleeping with a LED flash/floodlight and baseball bat beside the bed and alternating lights on in the other rooms, just to make anyone aware that I or somebody is home in the house. Where is Jack Webb when you need him?

That's terrible. This is the one advantage to having a full house and no privacy. I'm sure getting peoples stolen property Is low on Law enforcements list of things to do.

That's terrible. This is the one advantage to having a full house and no privacy. I'm sure getting peoples stolen property Is low on Law enforcements list of things to do. So true Icc. Talking with one of the Collector Shops Saturday, they told me when their shop was broken into once before that they were lucky enough to have all of their items PCU coded from the packaging. They posted online to the Collector's community about being robbed and 2 days later received a phone call from a Collector Shop in Las Vegas. Some guys came in trying to sell, and when the shop checked the PCU #'s they found they were part of the Phoenix stolen list. The shop kept the items and called Las Vegas Police who came to the Vegas shop but by then the thieves had already gotten antsy and left. Then the Vegas shop contacted the Phoenix Shop and the Phoenix shop contacted both Vegas and Phoenix police and were told if the shop wanted to collect the stolen items then they were welcome to go to the Vegas Collector shop and get them or pay to have the items shipped back to Phoenix. NEITHER of the Police departments would pick up the stolen items as part of the robbery inquiry!!! IS that insane or what?

Unfortunately, it’s a low priority. Hey , my wife watches many shows about crime and you wouldn’t believe the amount of unsolved murders every year. What chance does any other crime have ?
