For this week's contest, let's post covers concerning HAWKMAN, drawn by the Great Murphy Anderson The rules of the game:
- Post one classic cover that fits the theme of the contest. - Cover must be from a published comic book or collected volume published before August 2009. - Covers must be posted before voting begins. - Voting takes place on Tuesday, August 27th, beginning at 12:01am PST and ending at 11:59 pm PST. - Vote by posting the name of the poster whose cover best fits the theme or that you simply like the most. - Put your choice's name in bold. - The winner of the contest is the entrant with the most votes after the voting period ends. - The winner chooses the theme for the next week's contest. - If you don't think the cover fits the theme, don't vote for it; please don't post disparaging remarks about it. - If a cover is more recent than the classic time frame, kindly point it out so that the poster can choose an alternate before voting begins - Two posters may not share one cover. This is my favorite (all-time) and gave the inspiration to use Hawkman's image for my 100 characters avatar!

Despite the fact that I own a copy, I keep forgetting that Zatanna does not appear on the cover of Hawkman #4, her first appearance. Apparently editorial at DC decided that "The Machine That Magnetized Men!" was going to be a bigger selling point. In the absence of my fishnet clad favourite, I present this alternative.

Nothing like giving a dinosaur a good ole uppercut great cover, but it's Dick Dillin not Murphy Anderson. Anderson's run on Hawkman ended with issue #21. -M DC wiki says it's Anderson. dc.fandom.com/wiki/Hawkman_Vol_1_23Looks more like Anderson than Dillin to me.

Wait a minute, Golden Age Hawkman by Murphy Anderson ? Ha yup, but not the way you think...it's due to a cross over with Earth-3 not because the book was published in the Golden age

I think I know the crossover cover you’re talking ‘bout.
