So, maybe penciled by Anderson, but definitely inked by Anderson counts? Or not?I I hope Mecha doesn't mind me stepping in like this, but I believe by "drawn by" he means covers that at are penciled by Murphy Anderson. So a different penciler being inked by Anderson doesn't count for this particular contest. Mecha, please correct me if I am mistaken or misstating what you wrote To check credits: In my experience, gcd (comics.org) has the the most up-to-date credits, as that site continually revises its credits. Other sites don't seem to, at least not with the frequency that gcd does. It's has to be totally pencilled by Anderson. Drawn by Anderson ... means pencilled. I have to state that. Inking by Anderson would be extra credit.Inking is out.

It's still disqualified ... I asked for Anderson Only ... sorry. I think I'm going to vote for it regardless now.
this is supposed to be fun, and the rules clearly state that if you don't like a cover, simply don't vote for it.

^^^ It's not a matter of "not liking" a cover. That means if you absolutely despise a cover that someone else posted, you shouldn't say terrible things about it.
However, if a cover doesn't fit the parameters for a given week, then that can be pointed out, by the contest-starter or anyone else. For example, in the recent "pre-1933" contest--if someone accidentally posted a cover from 1945, no matter how great the cover was, someone would be within their rights to politely point that out.
Let's not derail this thread.

So mine is no good? I’ll just remove if that’s the case and skip this week. Seems like it was very limited options to begin with. Coulda been a cool contest to see anything done by Anderson

but. . know what. . i don't like the taste of this.
removing my entry, and skipping this week.
i'm in Atlanta next week for Dragon*con anyways, so don't wanna even be in running anyways, as i won't be here to post a contest if I DID win.

This is Hawkman #4 from the 1986 series. I could only find one source that would register for this image, so I apologize to anyone who can't see it.

Er, a bit limited in scope but seeing as my all-time fave and earliest '60s find is still available... "Lovely plummage." "The plumage don't enter into it. 'e's stone dead!"

Just so you know, those are Richard Howell pencils, Hoosier. My source just says cover artists: Murphy Anderson, Richard Howell. If it doesn't count, then I guess my entry is invalid.

This has never come up before that I recall about differing credits. Most here cite the GCD, www.comics.org, as their source. Can we all agree going forward to abide, and agree, to what they list, even if they note that it's speculation ?

OT: Murphy Anderson started in the 'Golden Age', he had a regular feature in Planet Comics in the '40s, here's a signed Star Pirate page from 1945 (also did a one page Life On Other Worlds feature)... eventually he was doing the Buck Rogers newspaper strip for quite awhile.
