^^Once again Anderson demonstrates his belief that you hold the bowstring away from your face (and draw past your face) when shooting a bow.

Everyone,
We normally never have an issue with this, what's the problem this week? It's always been up to the contest-starter to set the rules for the week's contest. Why are we questioning that/complaining about the rules this week?
A few posts ago I asked that people refrain from derailing this thread, but I see that didn't work too well. So sorry folks, I hate to do it... but I will be removing posts that are off-topic.
For those who want to post non-Murphy penciled covers, that's up to you (no one will remove your covers). But please, let's be civil to one another.
Thanks and feel free to PM me (or the other mods) if there are any questions

- Vote by posting the name of the poster whose cover best fits the theme or that you simply like the most.
- The winner of the contest is the entrant with the most votes after the voting period ends.
According to the rules , you can vote for ANY cover you want. Period.

I didn't know these Julius Schwartz Tribute comics existed, another bunch to add to the list! I remember reading in a TwoMorrows zine about how Dave Cockrum sent in the idea for The Shrike and the cover for it, and that he was 'paid' with the original Murphy Anderson art for #11. Can you imagine getting something like that in your mail?

Farrar, Prince Hal, and a couple others are worthy candidates ... and they are Honorable Mentions.

Farrar
Winged gorilla, what more can I say. Plus Carter Hall is giving himself a double whammy? Gorilla punch in the face and if his Flail misses the Gorilla then it looks like it's gonna smack ol' Hawkiepoo smack dab in his own head! Can you say 2 for 1?!?

I love Murphy Anderson's work, and he's my Hawkman artist, beating out Kubert. So I could have happily voted for any of the Anderson covers this time, but I settled on: foxleyI gave it the edge for including Katar's partner Hawkgirl, his future co-star the Atom, and best of all, the profile integrated into the logo, something I've always loved. {...}Unfortunately, I couldn't participate in this week's contest, since I already used a Hawkman cover way back in our Norm Breyfogle contest. Hopefully I can join in this week--there are only a maximum of 9 more covers to go in my personal secret cover contest challenge. Although I might still expand the parameters and add a few more. Here's a link that should include all my posts in the cover contests (including prior entries and comments in the contest threads). Can you spot the secret theme that links my entries over the past year and a few weeks? Please don't spoil it if you do--the challenge is getting difficult for me now, as my options are increasingly limited!
