Coming in 2015...the CW becomes the DC Network!
CBS would never allow this, but let me dream for a moment.

Was watching Flash vs Arrow and I can't believe that I'm the only one who's mentioned this (I sure can't be the only one who caught it!) Barry goes as Flash to meet iris at Jitters. Iris: Flash! It would sure be great to call you by your real name Flash: You mean, like "Ralph?" from:The Flash Episode 8 Flash vs Arrow It came to me in a Flash "I know that line!" Lois: Do you have a first name? Superman: What? You mean like Ralph or something? From: Superman the Movie

Episode 9 "The Man in the Yellow Suit" Barry chasing Reverse Flash and getting his ass handed to him at the football field was great. Honestly wasn't expecting Firestorm to show up and save Barry. I was wondering what Eddie expected his taskforce to actually be able to do against The Flash. Wow great end scene reveal with Dr. Wells!

And even more questions arising at the end regarding Barry's past and future.

While looking around at the reactions to the Episode over the past 24+ hours I found an article on Yahoo that included a spoiler laden write-up on the episode.
in the comments section I saw many people refer to the man in the Yellow Suit as Reverse Flash and others refer to him as Professor Zoom. as anyone who's ever read Flash knows, both names are correct. In fact it could be said that Flash's Number One Villain is one of the Few who has Three Names (In Both Incarnations no less!) The thing that's weird is how so many insist on him being called one or the other as if there was a difference. (in fact there is a Difference between Professor Zoom and ZOOM but I'll get to that in a minute. Today in particular I noticed one poster calling out the others by saying "Jebuz Do your Research!" and then insisting that the correct name was Prof. Zoom over Reverse Flash.
Well, it was at this point that I felt the need to respond with a very well-researched response (without calling out the poster directly I responded
"In the Who's Who Entries it officially Lists him as The REVERSE FLASH Alter Ego: Eobard Thawne, Alias Professor Adrian Zoom Prof. Zoom (In the original comic FLASH #139 Sept. 1963) got his powers by taking a copy of Flash's costume and amplifying the speed energies imbedded in it by it's being worn by the Flash. The new costume was dyed Yellow as Thawne viewed himself the Reverse to Flash in ideology (Whereas Flash was dedicated to law and order, Thawne was dedicated to crime and terror) Interestingly, It was the suit itself that gave Zoom his speed. Later on, his origin would be revised (more than once) showing that he actually re-created the accident that gave Barry his powers to get Super-speed for himself
The Second ZOOM was Wally West's Friend Hunter Zolomon Zolomon was an FBI Agent who as a child, came home and found that his mother had been murdered and his father was arrested for the murder despite screaming his innocence (sound familiar? This predates FLASH Rebirth by a few years btw) Zolomon was married to a fellow agent and her father was his supervisor. The three of them were after a particular suspect. Zolomon who was a specialist in profiling insisted that the suspect would be unarmed but he was wrong. the suspect shot Zolomon's father in law in the head killing him and shot Zolomon in the knee. Zolomon moved to Keystone City and became a police profiler where he met and became friends with Wally West the third Flash. During an attack by Gorilla Grodd Zolomon was injured even more severely and left a paraplegic. he begged Wally to go back in time and prevent his original injury from his time in the FBI. when wally refused, Zolomon went to the Flash Museum in his wheel chair and activated the Cosmic Treadmill. the device exploded. It would be the next day when Zolomon realized he had regained the use of his legs as well as a time shifting power that allowed him to move at roughly the same speed as Flash but without drawing on the same sourde for that power. Zolomon realized he fit the profile of Barry allen's old Enemy and adopted his own version of the Reverse flash Suit and used the Villain's other common alias Professor Zoom. He Crossed out his first name on his medical chart as well as the "l" and "on" of his Last name to leave the word ZOOM."
Now of course the next few weeks are going to go by agonizingly slowly for all us Flash fans but i have to say, so far this show has been a real treat and it's exceeded my expectations.

Thanks for the run down. I knew of the character differences but did not realize their complete histories within the comics. I find thins intriguing as where the show can go with it, as it seems they are taking bits and pieces from each and messing it together.

I can understand what you are staying here and believe me this summary is good as it comes. Thanks for sharing this!

I've been reading the New 52 Flash trade paperbacks at the library where I workand they have a new Reverse Flash in that series. He is Iris' brother Daniel West and he looks nothing like the other Reverse Flash's. I'm still not crazy about the costume changes in the New 52, but I will admit the story plots are interesting.

Manapul and Buccelato's run on The Flash was one of the strongest new 52 books every month.

It looks like Captain Cold is back in the previews and has Caitlin Snow hostage, so wondering if we are going to see the beginning of the Killer Frost evolution, since Firestorm will make his debut on the show. Kind of like Firestorm returns, but Snow is evolved (by whatever means) into Frost. Hoping they let this play out, if even as a subplot, on the Flash. But I am really excited about Grodd.

Episode 10 "Revenge of the Rogues" Barry training against the drone and reversing the missile in mid air looked cool. The scene where Cisco demonstrated the shields for the police was good as well. Looks like Firestorm will actually have transmutation powers plus Jason Rusch shows up. I thought the Heat Wave and Captain Cold scenes were all pretty good. "You mean like Ghostbusters?" made me laugh. I like that Cold called Barry the Scarlet Speedster. Wasn't expecting Eddie to run out and protect the Flash. Nice Golden Glider tease at the end.

I enjoyed it very much and it was very well paced and surprisingly and the team-up of Captain Cold and Heat Wave were outstanding.
