I actually like the black garbed look of Namor form the Bronze Age. For me, the green speedo look is a little off-putting, especially if you have been to a beach where lots of hirsute French-Canadien middle-aged men (most of them kin for me) gather on a summer vacation in Maine. Nothing of a heroic sensibility is left in that look after that.... -M You made your point quite good and I've may have to retract my previous post ... I can see where you are saying here and I applaud you for that.

Nothing of a heroic sensibility is left in that look after that.... -M I liked that look for Namor also. Running around in a speedo everywhere...I guess it works in a funnybook universe, but it's more than a bit weird. It probably doesn't hurt that he was wearing that look when I first started reading comics. That's what he was wearing when I started reading comics in 1975, so it's never looked off to me.
I knew about the green trunks because I saw it in reprints and I think he was still wearing them in The Invaders, which had just started.
I started reading Super-Villain Team-Up with #3 and he had the blue suit, but he went back to the green trunks about issue #8. Is that right? I haven't read those issues in decades.
I prefer the green trunks but the blue suit doesn't look bad to me at all.
Here's something that I noticed recently: So much pink in the Silver Age Legion of Super-Heroes!

Here's a few for Power Girl that make me shudder whenever I see them: Actually digging that bottom costume. I see no costume at all on her bottom.

It may be sacrilege, but I don't like GA Sandman's first re-design, even when it was rendered by Simon & Kirby. It's just a generic costume and a big step down from the pulpy gas mask and fedora.
Likewise, the change to Dr. Fate's look ca. 1942 leaves me cold. I understand that in-story he loses the original helmet, replacing it with this mask/cap. It seems minor, but for me it scuttles a good deal of the character's mystique.
Very glad both of these heroes have long since had their classic looks restored.

I always assumed the order of those Sandman looks was reversed. Yikes.

I always assumed the order of those Sandman looks was reversed. Yikes. It was Mort Weisinger who made the alterations in late 1941 (including the addition of the ubiquitous kid sidekick), presumably to bring the character more in line with the standard "long-underwear" heroes burning up the newsstands at the time.
Sandman artist/co-creator Bert Christman was serving as a pilot in WWII (where he would sadly perish in 1942), but writer/co-creator Gardner Fox was still very much involved with comics, though he was so busy taking over the workload of many of his colleagues who had enlisted, he may not either have known or cared about the changes.

One of my favorite characters is Orion of the New Gods, and I hate this costume from the horrible Gerry Conway-written title post-Kirby. This costume is horrible and totally out of character.

I want to apologize in advance. I don't normally share my opinions on anything. But, I keep seeing this thread, and I HAVE an opinion on my favorite character's outfit that I like the least. But, I know someone is going to have this as their favorite, and I'm sorry. I don't mean to offend. But...Yeah. Um, as you know Harley Quinn is my favorite, and... I don't like Harley Quinn's outfit in Injustice: Gods Among Us I like somethings, but...not all of it. It might not be her "worst", but it IS my least favorite. I like the game, though. It's fun.

I hated it at first but it somehow doesn't suck as badly now as I've played hundreds of hours worth and just gotten used to it.

And, even though I can look at now without much thought, I still don't like it as much as her other outfits. Ya know?

I can't stand Harley Quinn as a character, but I'll be the first to admit that the original Timm/Dini design was damn near perfect. All these Nu52 and video game aberrations are just terrible.

Yep. Weisinger and Paul Norris were responsible for the change of togs for Sandman.

Yep. Weisinger and Paul Norris were responsible for the change of togs for Sandman. Great catch. I didn't want to smear Norris by mentioning his involvement, but he certainly. . .should receive credit. . .for that.

That is pretty bad. It looks like an archer's outfit. But ... Uhhh ... Seeing my taste in women's attire, I will totally admit to liking her outfit in the Arkham Asylum game.
