Just out, the first teaser trailer for Black Widow
Nothing there is changing my original view that Phase 4 is shaping up as Phase Meh, but early days yet

I'm going to pass this movie up ... the trailer doesn't excite me at all.

Interesting teaser. Since everyone who has seen an Avengers movie already knows Black Widow, it provides just enough to show that this movie won't be an atypical MU movie. It will seriously need to double down on the espionage/spy parts and with movies like John Wick and Atomic Blonde there truly better be some serious amp up action/fights. Good to see Hawkeye appearing within the movie and while a totally different dynamic/take on Red Guardian from the looks of things, Harbour looks like he may make the character more than just a Russian Cap wannabe, which is good.

Looks promising. I like Johansson in that role, and a straight-up James Bond story makes sense for her. I can live with Hawkeye as a substitute for Daredevil, though it could have been a great way to introduce Charlie Cox to the MCU. If the trailer is any indication, this film leans heavily on the 2004-2005 Black Widow series by Richard K. Morgan and Bill Sienkiewicz under the Marvel Knights imprint. Watching the trailer for vestiges of the original story, I see Natasha's memories of training for the Bolshoi Ballet... ... revealed as memory implants to cover over her training for an elite La Femme Nikita assassination squad. "Black Widow" is the code name for the whole project, not just her... She has to travel to a remote military installation in Siberia for answers... Deal with Nick Fury's complicity in black ops involving pheromonal mind-control cologne... Get unwanted help from her long-time ally... And interact with one of her "sisters" who may or may not be on her side. Hopefully the movie will live up to the trailer, and the comic book.

Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, I bought that Sienkiewicz mini! I think I paid cover, which was a rarity for me back then. And now. And before back then.

I'm in, because I am a Marvel Zombie through and through.
Well, that, and if I don't take my daughters to see it, there will likely be a mutiny at The Captain's house next May.

My wife, who's a much bigger fan of the Marvel movies than I am, will definitely be wanting to see this. Black Widow is her favourite character in the Avengers and Captain America films.

My wife is the bigger Marvel movie fan in the house too. Widow is her second favorite though (Cap is her favorite). -M

Harbour killed it in the trailer.
I'm game for the film.
