Sorry, but Captain Ultra looks like he lost a fight with a 64 box of Crayola. I think Simon Williams called and wants his bad color scheme back....

With Ultra, I'm of the mind that if you do that do to yourself, fashion wise, you're in on the joke, so it's okay. But what's Wonder Man's excuse? I doubt he designed those outfits himself, given his Hollywood background and reliance on the wardrobe department.

I was thinking that the Wasp was responsible but couldn't recall if I'd actually read the story. My Wonder Man knowledge is pretty much limited to Avengers #160-200 and Byrne's West Coast Avengers. I sometimes think Janet was a bit of a troll. Her ego wanted to make certain that she always looked the best, so she'd intentionally design ugly costumes for her teammates when the opportunity arose.

Number 21 - She-HulkAlter Ego - Jennifer Walters Team Affiliations - Avengers, The Defenders, Fantastic Four, and several other teams as well. Created by - Stan Lee Illustrated by - John Buscema AbilitiesSuperhuman strength, speed, agility, stamina, and durability, Regenerative healing factor, Emotion empowerment, Breaking the "Fourth Wall", Power-switching, Highly skilled law practitioner, Expert hand to hand combatant, and Skilled pilot. Interesting Fact - Jennifer Walters, the cousin of Bruce Banner (Hulk), is the small and somewhat shy daughter of Los Angeles County Sheriff William Morris Walters and Elaine (née Banner) Walters (who died in a car crash when Jennifer was seventeen) Interesting Fact 2 - Jennifer back to the legal profession in a more full-time capacity, when she was asked to practice law in the Superhuman Law division of the New York firm of Goodman, Lieber, Kurtzberg & Holliway (GLK&H). This offer is dependent upon Jennifer remaining human while she worked for the firm. Reason for Rank: She-Hulk is one formidable superhero in the Marvel Universe. One of the most dynamic, towering, and one of the strongest heroes around. So many teams wanted her to be a part of their team. Fearless, Savage, and downright Sensational. A powerhouse to be reckon with.

Number 20 - Silver SurferAlter Ego - Norrin Radd Team Affiliations - Heralds of Galactus, The Defenders, and a couple other minor associations (including The Fantastic Four) as well. Created by - Jack Kirby & Stan Lee Illustrated by - Various Artists AbilitiesSilver Surfer wields the Power Cosmic, granting him superhuman strength, endurance, and senses and the ability to absorb and manipulate the universe's ambient energy. The Surfer can navigate through interstellar space and hyperspace, which he can enter after exceeding the speed of light. He has proven capable of time travel on several occasions, even able to make others time-travel with him. Interesting Fact - Norrin Radd also possesses some knowledge of the advanced alien technology of the planet Zenn-La. Reason for Rank: One of the most feared superheroes around and his association with the Fantastic Four helped me placed this character into one of the top 20 Marvel Superhero; but his association with Galactus (pictured below) as his herald put the damper on placing him higher on this list.

The Silver Surfer was created solely by Jack Kirby. Lee helped develope him after but had absolutely nothing to do with his creation

I like Captain Ultra and that single Fantastic Four comic is the only appearance by him I've ever read. I also like Blue Diamond and Thin Man.

Invisible Woman is my favorite super powered female Marvel character and my favorite character on this list so far.
Silver Surfer is someone I like to see guest starring in Fantastic Four, but I've never liked him on his own.

Invisible Woman is my favorite super powered female Marvel character and my favorite character on this list so far. Silver Surfer is someone I like to see guest starring in Fantastic Four, but I've never liked him on his own. I like the Surfer's first solo series, the one that lasted 18 issues at the end of the Silver Age (and/or beginning of the Bronze Age. To me, it's all Silver Age).
Great John Buscema art. The stories are a little whingey, with the Surfer bemoaning his fate amongst the horrible people of Earth. But that's part of the charm after all this time. And the stories are so CRA-ZEE! I especially like that weird bit where the Satanists are trying to summon a demon and they - somehow - conjure up The Abomination, who has been floating around in space for some reason. (I think this is when he was held captive by the Stranger.)
Silver Surfer #4 is quite a classic.
Most of the first Silver Surfer series isn't great writing but much of it is a lot of fun. Like when he fights Frankenstein's monster! And then when he fights the Flying Dutchman's ghost! Or the Spider-Man issue!

Number 19 - The VisionNote to All - I'm referring to the first version that's based on the brain patterns of Wonder Man and the Human Torch. Alter Ego - An Android Team Affiliations - Avengers, West Coast Avengers, and Defenders too. Created by - Stan Lee and Roy Thomas Illustrated by - John Buscema AbilitiesDensity control ranging from invulnerability to intangibility, Mass control ranging from extraordinarily heavy to weightlessness, Utilizes phasing into beings/objects then solidifying as a means of molecular disruption, causing pain/damage or death/destruction Flight, Solar energy projection (via eyes or solar jewel on forehead), Computer/IT network interfacing, Superhuman strength, intelligence, reflexes and senses as an artificial being Capable of self repair and regeneration as an artificial being Interesting Fact - The Vision and Scarlet Witch are married in Giant-Size Avengers #4 (June 1975) Reason for Rank: One of the craftiest Avengers around and one of the most talked about android in Comic Book History. Vision has everything going for him, great tactical response time, superb intelligence, and the know how to get the job done right. To me, a near perfect fighting machine. Worthy at Number 19.
