On a spectrum I'm closer to silverback gorilla though I'm not nearly as hairy as a lot of people I know or even in my own family.

I'm on the silverback end of the spectrum. My hair is down to my waist, and even with my advanced age, my hairline hasn't moved and the color hasn't changed. Well, maybe a little at the temples. No facial hair; my wife has a prejudice against facial hair. She acknowledges that it's irrational, but there's no getting around it. I had a mustache for a few years in the 80s - I was re-hired by a company that I'd left 18 months earlier, and I wanted to look different because I was coming in to a different role. Then I went back to clean-shaven, then a full beard for a couple of years in the early 90s. That's when I finally let my hair grow out - it was a conventional length until then.

Hairless bear here, except for the head. I know women who have to shave all the time various places and am so glad I don't. I hope this isn't too personal, or sexist objectification or whatever, but I have always had a thing for hairy guys that have smooth heads... sort of the opposites attract principle! To each their own?

Having made a joke in another thread you can "blame" this weeks Which One on my man Icctrombone suggesting it would be a good topic here.So without further ado: in response to your hair or lack thereof whether it be body, facial or cranial: Which One: A Silverback Gorilla or a hairless cat? As for myself: i go with hairless cat. Body hair is on the thinner end of the spectrum (with those exquisite white hairs slowly becoming more pronounced) and the leg hair having patch bald spots below the knee's from childhood having to wear braces to correct my inward turned feet. The head lost the hair battle around 10 years ago with a nice balding spot right smack on top from years of an ascending widows peak. Facial comes in fairly thick when I let it grow out (with again that abundance of white sprouting up) but here in the desert of Arizona with 100+ temperatures I find I prefer to go about clean shaved, so each morning an electric razor does the job and by 10 am the good ol' 5 o'clock shadow has arrived. The head I simply zip each weekend with an electric trimmer and allow it grow through the week before zipping again on Sunday. Just too dang much work to shave the old skull bone down each morning in the shower to full wax and shine mode. What about the rest of you? Hairless cat until we reach the legs, which suggest I have a faun in my family tree. As for a beard... I'd love to have a real one, but after two months looking like a stubbly ex-convict, all I can manage is a sparse goatee. (I could grow a Nietzsche moustache, though, but when I look at it it looks back at me).

Silverback
Hairy but not Robin Williams hairy. Ex-wives and girlfriends have all professed to liking it.
Have had a moustache since college, and have had a beard or goatee at varying times.

Bette Davis was said to have quipped "I like 'em hairy" about her husband Gary Merrill.

Today's which one playing off the hairless cat thought: Who did bald better classic---Yul Brynner or Telly Savalas? Who did bald better modern---Vin Diesel or Jason Statham?
Classic: Both made bald a sexy thing for men, but for me Brynner had that the dark, sultry, something dangerous going on behind the eyes that you better be cautious with or you might be stepping into deep do-do before you know it. Your choice?
modern: gotta admit Vin pulls off the sleek bald, but my man Statham is the baddest of bald asses with that scruff on top and across his jaw. You just don't mess with Statham, cuz you know he can beat the crapola all over you and never break a sweat!

Telly Savalas.
He could be a hard-ass when the role demanded it (as he often was in Kojak), but he also had a sly charm that Yul Brynner could only dream of possessing. Who loves ya, baby?

And you better have a lollipop in your mouth when saying that baby! I do give you the point about charm. Telly had that or else Kojak would never have lasted as long as it did. Would be just another hard-ass cop series without Savalas in IMO.

Neither....for me it was Jason Statham Statham is the modern day star for sexy baldness. Buuuuut he likes it scruffy and doesn't go the full on smoooooothed shave pate. And since you make a good point there @rags about Jason I added in modern to the question!

I will be the first to quickly admit in this age of understanding that I have a total man crush on Jason Statham. He rocks his look.
As far as the other probably Yul, only because I've seen him in a lot more than Telly.

I'll go with Brynner by a razor thin margin. I think it's the exotic look that sells it just a tad over Savalas.

Egads, thinking upon it we can add Dwayne the "Rock' Johnson to the modern bald is beautiful movement. And what about Curly of the 3 stooges for classic? Others to add to the polished dome look?
