Moon Knight...any "best stories/runs" recommendations? Is the 80's series good? And what about some of the newer stuff?

The Moench/Sienkiewicz run is good throughout, but it becomes incredible in its second year. This is where Sienkiewicz becomes Sienkiewicz. Kevin Nowlan takes over on art when Sienkiewicz leaves, and I'd argue that the book is just as strong.
The more recent stuff is a mixed bag, but I'd definitely recommend Warren Ellis' and Declan Shavley's six issues that launched the current run. I've heard that Cullen Bunn's current run is really good, but I haven't read it yet.

I recently read pretty much all the Moon Knight comics I could find, from the very earliest appearances to the most recent, up to the Warren Ellis issues. I'd recommend doing that, if you can. There aren't all that many, considering the number of years MK has been around, so it's pretty do-able.
I was pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable some of the newer stuff was (i.e from the 2006 Charlie Huston 2006 on). They all had their good and bad points, and none of them quite fit in with my personal view of the character, but almost all of them are worth a look, I'd say. I did skip the Bendis miniseries, just because I didn't like the premise, so I can't say anything about that one.

I enthusiastically second that recommendation.

I recently came across some Wolfman/Perez Teen Titans issues at a good price and filled out a hole in my run. I don't remember much about the series except it was pretty much a Claremont-X-Men style superhero series with excellent artwork by Perez, but looking at my issues I see that I stopped buying them in the early #40s in terms of issue #s. Does anyone know if the series took a downturn around that time? It's possible that I just got tired of it at the time.

Which series? The 1st or the 2nd? The 2nd one went downhill a bit after that...for me it was after the 'Who is Donna Troy?' story.

Any thoughts on the Dark Horse Tarzan series? I already own Tarzan vs Predator: At Earth's Core by Simonsons and Weeks, and I found a very cheap copy of Tarzan and Carson of Venus by Darko Macan and Igor Kordey on the way. I'm not a huge Tarzan fan, but I do appreciate certain key runs with the character like Russ Manning's and Joe Kubert's. I saw that DH is putting out a Tarzan omnibus collecting issues 1-20 of the DH series. A lot of great talent like Tim Truman, Bruce Jones, and Al Williamson, but I haven't heard much about the series. Is this worth picking up?

Are there any good Doctor Mid-Nite solo series out there? I know very little about the character besides what I originally learned in Who's Who. I've always found him to be cool and underrated conceptually. Is he represented well in Roy Thomas' All-Star Squadron?

The first one printed on the old newsprint type paper rather than the 2nd one printed on the higher quality paper and with brighter colours. I don't think I read much of the 2nd series - I only have the 1st couple issues from it. It's a bit confusing as it seems that the later issues of the first series (#60s or so and onwards?) were reprints of the early issues of the 2nd series, as far as I can tell. Similar question about Mike Grell's Warlock: where does the classic Warlock end - at the point when Grell stopped doing the artwork? He seems to have stayed on as writer for awhile with other artists.

His then-wife Sharon Grell was actually ghost writing the series for the last two years or so where he was being credited. He was just doing the covers. I personally prefer her era to his in terms of writing, so your mileage may vary. I'd say the "classic" Warlord probably ended with #50 - it makes a really good stopping place if you want to stop, as it features a big final showdown between Warlord and his arch-enemy, and also ties up a long storyline that started in #38. But my favorite issues are those that follow this in the #52-70 range.

Once Grell's involvement is done there's zero reason to stay with the book. Grell did assist Sharon with the plots of the books she wrote, but he had a ton of work at the time, including doing the Tarzan comic strip for almost two years and starting up Starslayer.

Snyder III did a great Mid-Nite mini-series, which has been collected even though it's from a time when not that many series got. (But keep in mind that I'm a big Matt Wagner fan and love almost anything he does.)

The Moench / Sienkiewicz are great, as well as the few post-Sienkiewicz issues later. I haven't cared for any of the series after that except for the first Fist of Khonsu series (6 issues IIRC)

I'm not the biggest Tarzan fan, but I've enjoyed Dark Horse's version very much, along with the Malibu version from the 90's. Honestly, in retrospect, everyone has done a pretty good job with the character.
