There is a free digital comic called Valentine available in both French and English. Good way to practice your French.

Can't really say which Image comic I consider the best right now, there are so many good ones and they are all doing different things. Elephantmen
Month in/Month out probably the best Image book not enough people are reading. I look forward to each issue every month. It's got a great 2000AD feel; hell, it should since Starkings is British. So far there's been 7 volumes (0 to 6) of this book...its very fun.

Can't really say which Image comic I consider the best right now, there are so many good ones and they are all doing different things. My votes of what I'm reading: Best: Prophet Manhattan Projects Fatale East of West Behind that: Saga Velvet Black Science Lazarus Pulling up the rear: Sex Criminals Pretty Deadly Jupiter's Legacy Of these, here's what I'm reading / think: Prophet - not reading Manhattan Projects - REALLY LIKE!!! Fatale - Read in tpb, it's almost over actually. Great stuff! East of West - Love Hickman. This is out there tho. Good read. Saga - read in tpb. Highly recommend. Velvet - Good stuff! Another tpb read. Black Science - 1st arc just finished, tpb next month and #7 is out in July. Really cool. I'm moving to tpb. Lazarus - not reading Sex Criminals - Pretty cool. Read all the issues, may move to tpb. Pretty Deadly - Liked #1, just got the tpb. Jupiter's Legacy - I never trust Millar to put out a monthly book. Likely get a tpb if it ever finishes. I'm also reading SECRET, which suffered from a long gap but it very cool. Spy stuff mostly. I'm 1 TPB behind in Walking Dead. I haven't picked up the latest INVINCIBLE tpb. Some of the new Image books look killer! LOW looks badass for one. There's a few new Image #1's in this month's Previews I'm ordering. Warren Ellis' TREES should be cool. I also read a lot of Avatar's books: CROSSED, CALIBAN, UBER, etc...

Fatale - Read in tpb, it's almost over actually. Great stuff! I read the first trade of Fatale, and maybe it's my english that's not good enough, but I'm not sure I understood everything that was going on. Won't get the second one, unless not until I re-read the first one and can make a sense of it. Only current series I follow right now in floppies from Image are Alex + Ada and Minimum Wage, which I both love!

There are thing I like about Fatale....and overall I'm a big Brubaker fan...but I just can't warm too it. Maybe it's just that I desperately want him to start doing Criminal again.

The Liefeldian origin of the series turned me off (which as a Wildstorm fan, is pretty hypocritical for me). Manhattan Projects: 1 category down for me. Liking it, but not my favourite. Fatale: Loving it. East of West: Loving it. Behind that: Saga: 1 category up for me. Really love this series as well. Velvet: Not reading, kinda slipped under the reader for me. But I'm interested. Black Science: Not reading Lazarus: Was 1 category down, but this arc, it's moved up. Liking it Pulling up the rear: Sex Criminals: Want to get the trade, but haven't gotten around to it. Pretty Deadly: Not reading Jupiter's Legacy: Not reading And adding my own for favourites: Loving: - Rat Queens Liking: - Sex Pulling up the rear: - The Bounce (which I moved to trades, just missed some issues). - Five Ghosts.

Out of the Image titles out right now, there's a few of them I'm enjoying: Loving: Elephantmen- my favorite comic from them Revival- Better than WD Sex- When Casey isn't writing the Big 2, he's a damn genius and risktaker in his book writing Velvet- Its Bru & Epting, what's not to love? Liking: Satellite Sam- I adore Chaykin, but this book would've been a million times better if Chaykin wrote and drew this book. It feels like Fraction is trying too hard Chaykin and what Chaykin does in his sleep. Prophet- Mindblowingly good. Graham took a lame character and made him worth reading. Lazarus- Solid but not blowing my mind. I enjoy Rucka and Lark together, but this is missing something Dropped: Thief of Thieves: Started strong and now its meandering. Love Martinbrough's artwork Need To Try: Black Science- Mainly for Mateo's artwork. I like his stuff Rat Queens- Heard positive things about this. Overhyped: Sex Criminals- Am I the only one here that thinks this book is made for people that are on the spectrum? Its so pointless Pretty Deadly- Tried it, didn't jive. DeConnick's a good writer but this original book I'm not on for.

It's such an excellent comic, but I only read it in collected form, so it's in an out of my progressively more senile brain. I don't think I have volume 6 yet, so that will be my next purchase.
Don't sleep on the Hip Flask series. It has glorious Ladronn art. Unfortunately, having glorious Ladronn art means you only get an album every few years. Now that he's done with Final Incal, maybe he'll be able to finish off the Hip Flask trilogy.

That's the thing Richard's working on doing. I have all of the Hip Flask stuff... I'm a big fan of these books.

I got a couple of the Elephantmen trades (3 maybe?) and I agree the art is great, and it's an intriguing story, it moved a little too glacially for me, though. I think I would prefer it if they started back during the wars they Elepantmen fought during and wrote in a roughly chronological way... as it is, I find the constant flashbacks make it tough to get into the actual current story. Still, though, I'd get more if I find a good sale or something.

I absolutely love the covers to Elephantmen. I picked up either a FCBD or a cheap back issue or something and read it, terrible. Completely not what I look for in a comic.
Good covers though, awesome covers.

Based on the opinions on this thread,I'll put Testament on the back burner for awile and come up with an alternative.I have some time.Currently I'm reading Terry Moore's Echo.Fantastic,I'm a third of the way thru it's 30 issues and completely entralled.Big fan of the current Rachel Rising and Echo is just as good.A SF oriented story about a young lady on the run from the government after getting exposed to the fallout of a secret experiment. This fallout has endowed her with a destructive ability.A madman killer also stalks her with the same ability.Terry Moore weaves the tale with good characterization and clean art.Reccommended

I've never even heard of half the titles mentioned in this thread and never read most of the rest. I can, however, give a couple of those mentioned my highest recommendation: Zot! and Neil the Horse. Others have already described the virtues of the former (I prefer the 10-issue first arc to what came after but it's all excellent). As for NtH, the fact that it's been featured in two of my Classic Comics Christmas lists (Favorite Characters, Favorite Cover) should tell you something It's a total delight, hilarious, wistful, imaginative and beautifully drawn. I gave my complete run to one of my nieces a few years back, an act of generosity I rather regret. Definitely on my "to be replaced" list!
Cei-U! I summon Soapy and Mlle. Poupee!
