Okay folks. I've seen a worst somewhere here back a few years ago. How about something positive. What are your favorite limited series that you have come across, whether it's 4-issue, 6-issue, 10-issue, 12-issue, etc. issues.

I remember liking this series very much when it came out. Byrne never looked better than when inked by Karl Kessel. I'm almost afraid to read it again and lose the magic.

Guns of the Dragon (1998, 5 issues), which featured Enemy Ace teamed up with Bat Lash, and Biff Bradley (brother of Slam), on Dinosaur Island (fromthe War That Time Forgot), with Vandal Savage, a young Miss fear and Chop-Chop (both of Blackhawk fame and both homaging Terry and the Pirates). Just pulpy goodness from Tim Truman, who knows how to do that kind of thing. Where Monsters Dwell (2015, 5 issues) with the Phantom Eagle (following on Howard Chaykin's revamp of the character) for similar reasons. Any Hellboy mini from Mignola. Garry Gianni's Monstermen JSA: The Liberty Files Notice a trend here? JSA: The Golden Age Grendel Tales minis, from Dark Horse (take your pick) Sky Wolf, from the Eclipse Airboy series.... He goes treasure hunting in Indochina and ends up at Dien Bien Phu. The first Predator mini, from Dark Horse... Watchmen Giver Me Liberty Marshal Law (take your pick there, too) Terminal City and its direct sequel, Aerial Graffiti and meta-sequel Electropolis (which were all tied to Mister X) Jezebel Jade, from Comico's Jonny Quest The Spider Tim Truman modernizing the character. M, from Eclipse and Jon J Muth, adapting Fritz Lang Mr Monster: Origins Shadow: In the Coils of the Leviathan Crash Ryan Damage Control (I & II) The Thing (Dan Slott) Spider-Man and the Human Torch: I'm With Stupid Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty Justice Society Returns (a mosaic event, with the All-Star Comics bookends, and individual chapters reusing the names of classic Golden Age comics)

I very much enjoyed this 3 issue mini chronicling Batman's history wrapped around a mystery. Of note was, I believe , this was John Byrnes first DC work and a kind of audition to walk away from Marvel. My understanding is Marvel signed him to an exclusive after the first issue. Aparo did the last 2 issues. I still have this mini and have to dig it out some day.

I love THE UNTOLD LEGEND OF THE BATMAN. Such a great story, perhaps even underrated.
There was a Twitter spat a few years ago (social media is anti-social media, if you ask me) about whether the mini-series was canonical or not. From what I read, a few said it wasn’t, but those who seemed the most knowledgeable said it was canon. I’ve certainly never read anything to suggest it was apocryphal.

This Thor Miniseries by Garth Ennis and Glen Fabry was shocking in its graphic violence as you would expect from Ennis. Thor gets owned like I never seen in any book before. Really something worth reading.

It was canon where they tried to tie everything that ever happened to Batman over the years in order to make sense. It was a Roy Thomaseque story.

Hercules Prince of Power was really fun , the second one also. Crisis is historically important but it's weakened because they changed the universe so many times afterwards. The only thing I remember about Sword of the Atom was that his wife was caught banging another man in a car in front of his home.

I enjoyed this mini very much. Whenever Adams does work that he doesn't write, it is a quality project. I feel the same about when Byrne does just the art for a book.
