Number one picks tomorrow, eh?
I always feel a huge pressure for the first pick. Why? Well, it’s sort of like being in the main event of WrestleMania. The previous 11 days have been something special, but the eyes of the world (millions!) will be watching all of us justify our #1 pick.
But like a WrestleMania main eventer, I know everyone will bring their A game!

Let's get ready to crrrrrrrruuuuuuuummmmmmmble! It's time for writers block in a cell. A battle royale with last pen standing. At the sound of the typewriter bell come out fighting. Its every writer for himself with no tag team writing favorites. No hitting below the pages! No paper cuts! No ink stained finger eye gouging!

Maybe next year’s contest will be “Your Top 12 Wrestling Comics”. I look forward to it!

So with each of my entries I picked a single work to read if you were unfamiliar with the writer's work (something I doubt applies to anyone here for the most part). I had certain criteria for these picks beyond I really liked it/it was a favorite. It was harder meeting those criteria with some writers than others. There were essentially 3 criteria:
1) As best as possible, the work required no prior knowledge by the reader going in to it so they could read it even if they were a complete neophyte to comics
2) The work was short enough it could be read and digested in one sitting
3) it offered a complete story with a beginning, middle and end to give the reader resolution and a complete reading experience.
It's amazing how difficult it is to find comics that meet those criteria from the big 2.

Seeing the overall choices, there are 3 on my initial classic list that were dropped so that 3 more current, still with years to provide "more" wonder could be placed. A load of Brit's to choose from which I knew MANY would name as their fave's so I limited myself to a singular choice. Many classic writers that I read and enjoyed tons of their stuff, but not in truly "following/searching" them out as they managed to appear frequently in comics that I followed.

I keep trying to post my 12th day pick but Imgur keeps crashing. I insist on posting pictures along with my pick.

I keep trying to post my 12th day pick but Imgur keeps crashing. I insist on posting pictures along with my pick. That's why I dont post images. Have enuff troubles some days just keeping my cell working and connecting to the internet. Adding a host site for images is just that more of a headache.

I want to thank our leaders for extending our tradition past Christmas. I’ve still got five choices left to write up. Also I apologize in advance if I end up duplicating someone else’s points. I wrote these blind, and haven’t looked at any of the threads yet. If I had to edit my entries to avoid repeating points already made, I would never get it done. Besides, I suspect about half my list will end up standing alone.
Now I’m off to start posting.

Okay, I may be wrong. Just glimpsing some of the names chosen as I posted the seven write-ups I have so far, I now believe my #12 pick will probably be the only one standing alone. I look forward to reading everybody else’s reasons soon.

I might try to emulate your late contribution and if I do I'm pretty sure all my choices will have already appeared multiple times. I've been a bit pressed for time, but mostly it's just that I've found myself unable to make up my mind about some of the lower choices. My top 6 or 8 I'm pretty decided on.
