I sold mine years ago and couldn't be bothered about Spidey 2099, never liked any of those 2099 books.

I enjoyed the Ron Lim art on X-men 2099.

Then you had MC2, which was yet another possible future, which frankly no one remembers outside of maybe Spider-Girl and American Dream

And that no one is...me. Haha. I love MC2. Maybe I could do MC2 reviews on this forum since it is probably my favorite Marvel alternate (I liked 2099 too though), except I'm not too good at reviewing stuff.

Seriously, I'm a sucker for alternate futures, and 2099 was one of my favorites.. corporations taking over is a great trope. Miguel O'hara is also a great character in his own right... and I like PAD's writing (though I know it's not for everyone). The X-Men designs were pretty good too. add Doom conquering the US and how can you go wrong? I've been meaning to re-read them (maybe even a review thread).. one of these days. MC2 was a much nearer future (just 15-20 years, instead of 100), and was fun for what it was. Spider-Girl was a great old school book. They tried a little too hard to make connections though (which is what doomed 2099 in the end as well)

Basically Bronze Age style superhero comics in the gritty 90s, so naturally it was mostly ignored, although Spider Girl lasted quite a while. My fave was A-Next, with the DeFalco-Frenz combo I've always loved. MC2 is definitely something that deserves reexamination

It didn't spark my interest as they were being released but about 10 years ago or so I found like 75% of the series in dollars bins and took the plunge. Have to say of what I read so far it really is a good title. One of the, as far as I know, only original titles that wasn't connected to 616 Marvel and was good. Honestly, in my opinion (other than Punisher 2099 as I haven't read it) Hulk and FF 2099 were the weakest titles to me. Though I did like the art in Hulk 2099.

There were a few other original characters, but they were only in unlimited.... Metalscream was in a few stories, and then then was Galahad. I agree Hulk was pretty weak... FF doesn't even really count, IMO.... that was after the ship had sailed really.

Some are saying that inflation in the US (at its highest point since 1982) is having an adverse effect on some speculation-heavy books and consequently, their values are going south again.
The trick is, when it tumbles enough, then buy it! Because there will be another uptick sometime. Time is your friend if you can afford that type of investment.

The most recent boom is definitely over for this cycle...some speculators are now crying after having bought books specifically to flip, and losing money on each sale. Inflation is taking a bite.
On the plus side....now that prices are dropping, some savy collectors are waiting to pounce on deals knowing that there'll be an uptick at some future time.
I played hardball with someone and refused to pay his asking price (for a book I *do* want), even though I do have the cash for it. Maybe I'm getting old, but I'm playing the patience game...

Good to hear! I just sold over $2K in Magic: The Gathering cards, so if the market is cooling off, it might be time to pick up some books that people want to unload before they get too far under water on them.

I was pretty happy with some good deals on some 70s Iron Man books... perhaps at some point I'll be able to get #55 without a mortgage.

Been seeing some movement on late 80s/early 90s Wolverines, aside the Miller mini.
Marvel Comic Presents #1, #72 (Weapon X). Wolverine 1 to 12 of the Buscema run, particularly issue 8
