Last night, I broke the $20,000 mark. I have made that much in net profit selling comic books since this new collectors bubble began.
Oh, I'm not living the high life or anything. Amber had to leave her job in order to care for our sick son, so my ebay winnings still come in lower than what she actually would have made working this year--AND we've got a wedding coming up--but it's sure kept us afloat all the same!
The bubble is certainly winding down. Newer speculator stuff isn't commanding the same prices as books that became hot even four months ago, but there is still A LOT of money to be made, and I'm not done selling yet.
Once again, I strongly suggest that folks consider jumping on this bandwagon before it leaves the station. There is so much to be made selling your old books, even in rough condition. Chances are, you'll be able to buy them back for a lot less later!

Precisely what I'm waiting for on some certain issues.

I actually began by trying alternate market places. In my case, the amount of exposure ebay gives you far outweighed the fees. I made a lot more selling to a larger pool of buyers and bidders.

I was in my local comic shop yesterday and noticed the Daredevil issue with the first appearance of Echo on the wall for $200 and I want to cry...

People who are speculating on 2nd, 3rd & 4th tier characters in post-modern books will eventually get burned for the most part. There are exceptions, but I'd classify this one in under the "White Vision" category-- hot for awhile, and then nosedive. Not worth it unless you are purposely flipping short-term.
For your $200 you can essentially get a very nice silver or bronze key that will retain its value in the long term.

Isn't Echo getting her own tv series? That's why she's hot.

If nobody buys it at that price, it will make me feel a little better about selling that run years ago...

I've seen several copies of it move in that price range (more if slabbed) on the Lonestar auction the last year or so (starting about the time news leaked she would be in the Hawkeye series). I thought there would be a dip after the Hawkeye series ran and then pick up again as her series approached which seems to be the pattern for these type of modern spec books, but the heat on this one chugged right through the Hawkeye series and keeps on going. I think Echo has a few things going for her that "White Vision" lacked because her disability has caused her to become a favorite in some circles that could give the character a little more shelf life in the mass audience than White Vision and others of that ilk lack, but a lot is going to depend on how well received her solo Disney+ series is and how big a role in the MCU Echo plays after that. I don't think this book has infinite growth or demand, but I don't think it's going to drop as sharply as some of the other media fueled first appearances did. -M

What's the deal with that elephant character that I keep seeing associated with the Moonknight streaming series? What comic did it debut in ?

Probably just a cameo appearance of some French-speaking elephant who thinks he's king, or something... You know these MCU shows... always dropping easter eggs and teasers to drive the speculator crowd crazy.

Maybe it's Man-Elephant. Savage She-Hulk #17 is about to skyrocket.

I think they're about to fold Baby Snoots into the MCU and prices are going to go crazy on those books... I'm starting the rumor here and NOW.
