It's been a good change from my POV. For one thing, going to the CBR site used to mean I spent more time looking at previews of new Marvel and DC comics, most of which just got on my nerves. Now that the msg board isn't there I find that I rarely seek out previews of, say, the latest Avengers or FF or whatever the case might be.

Been meaning to ask, shax -- have you ever gotten a chance to see the actual horror movie that's pretty much a retelling, The Return of Dracula? Completely unaware of it. Enlighten me? It's ... well, it's Shadow of the Doubt, pretty much, except with a vampire. Honest. And pretty well done at that.

The CCF is a success and better than the CBR. Shaxper, thank you for your hard work i setting it up!

I'm definitely pretty happy about the move, at times I miss the Batman forum but even at CBR it isn't what it once was.

I love it. I too miss LR, but he had been posting less and less for a while as his life got busier.
And I don't see much of the Red Oak Kid, who always was fun to read.
Ya done good, Shax!
I wish I could post more, but then, life is hectic. Someday maybe. I'd like to do a review thread on comics even further out there than even Brother Power, like Tomahawk and the old Doom Patrol, and so on. Just because. Of course, I might be the only one around whoever read any of them, but if I can't do it here, where?
When Cei-U unveils his Twelve Days feature, it will complete the transition perfectly...

A Doom Patrol thread would be a delight. I love those bickering outcasts.

I think it's a big improvement... I go CBR very rarely... and all the forums have really dropped off in both traffic and quality, IMO. I suspect alot of people would have just wandered off if Shax had not collected everyone here. It's much appreciated!

I agree that this forum is an improvement over CBR. It's like the difference between living with your parents and getting your own place.

I couldn't be happier with the way it worked out. Cei-U! I summon the contentment! Yep. I summon the 'what he said'

Mmmmm it's lovely and brings me all those tasty souls to much on...huh? Oh sorry, didn't mean to let the cat out of the bag....
Ya dun gud Shax! And we got Classic Shaxper out of the deal!
Seriously, I think it's not just an adequate replacement, it's an improvement in so many ways, but I will second the notion that it won't be complete until we have our first Twelve Days of Christmas here. The cornerstones are set, the foundation laid, the walls raised, the roof in place, and it's all good, now we just need Cei-U to put the finishing touch on our new home!

Ditto.
I liked the old CBR with the Classics boards my favorites. Now since the CCF has come to life, the only thread I glance at occasionally is the DC Comics, and I haven't looked that closely but I don't think that's quite the same either.
These boards are warm, welcoming and continue the gentlemanly and ladylike tradition of non trolling and flaming.
As always, these boards are always informative and I've become much more banana aware.

Even as a pretty sporadic poster, I'm hugely grateful that this place existed in order to provide a safe haven for the crew from the Classics Board; major kudos to Shax for getting this place set up at all & running soon enough to retain the vast majority of those posters before we all dispersed to the winds.
I do miss the easy integration with CBR stories (mostly for the other boards rather than Classics) and I really miss all the old history that was lost in the nuclear overreaction at CBR.
There are a couple of things with the user interface here that I'm not fond of - prev/next take you to the same place on the prev/next page rather than the top / bottom of the page, but otherwise, all is well.

I post more here than I did at CBR, and I feel more connected to the folks who are posting here. In all the time I was on CBR, I felt like I was "just there", but I don't feel that way on this forum. I've exchanged comics with some people (not really trades, but more "hey, I have this and will send it to you" exchanges), gotten good recommendations about shops to visit in the Dayton, OH area (thanks to mrp), and just generally feel that the folks who post here are more mature and wanting to have conversation, not show how smart they are or how wrong I am.
The classics forum at CBR was tacked onto a bigger universe and felt kind of transient and impersonal, while the folks on this board made a conscious choice to be here and as such it feels like a much-stronger community.
Thanks to all who have made the first six months successful, and here's to many more.

I enjoy it here much more than I did at CBR. The thing about CBR is that, for the most part, I felt like the posters were people I didn't have much in common with, particularly in regards to new comics. It was always hard for me to take seriously people who were constantly complaining, but at the same time open and unrepentant about buying everything Marvel and DC were pushing.
Like a few others have commented, I want to contribute more with review threads and in discussions.
