These boards are warm, welcoming and continue the gentlemanly and ladylike tradition of non trolling and flaming. What you're saying is, I'm falling down on the job. *sigh*

I like the new forum a lot, though it seems a lot more active than on CBR--I honestly can't keep up. Just about given up on the Meanwhile thread, since it seems to generate 5 pages a day.

I'm using Firefox and I always start up with several tabs (classics and the classics community being 2 of them). A week or two ago I finally removed the CBR tabs as I rarely got around to checking them anymore.

I was never a part of the CBR boards, but I am certainly thankful for the CCF boards. I am enjoying it and appreciate it.

Hell to the yeah.
It's all the best parts of the old days, but with a feel all its own.
Really, the only loss from the old days is some content. Those hidden good posts here and there from years past.

Why is Lone Ranger not here?

Why is Lone Ranger not here? I'm assuming it's a time issue. He barely ever posted at CBR and hadn't with any regularity for a few years. I see that his "Married With Clickers" podcast appears with some regularity so I suspect that's taking time along with work.

I post more here than I did at CBR, and I feel more connected to the folks who are posting here. [...] The classics forum at CBR was tacked onto a bigger universe and felt kind of transient and impersonal, while the folks on this board made a conscious choice to be here and as such it feels like a much-stronger community. Thanks to all who have made the first six months successful, and here's to many more. What he said. CBR was nice, but we were guests at someone else's party. This place is ours.

I'm sorry to say, I'm not better off. I'm 6 months older, 3 pounds heavier, my triglycerides and blood sugar are up, my work productivity is down, and I haven't won the lottery so I still have to work for a living.
But I suppose you really want to talk about the forum, not me. Overall, it's been a big improvement. We have an island of sanity and respect, that has been augmented by fellow refugees, apart from the snark and flame-baiting that would occasionally wander in from being connected to the other CBR boards. My main complaint with CCF was mechanical as some of the navigation features didn't work very well. Upgrading my Internet Explorer has solved virtually all of that, though.
Nothing against CBR. I still go there most everyday, though it's only for news and the occasional Comics Should Be Good update. I haven't gone to any of the forums for a while.

That kind of sounds like a tag line for a Viagra commercial.
