Am I the only one who gets major David Caruso vibes from The Corinthian?
I must say, Lucienne's role improved dramatically as the series progressed.

No, really, that never crossed into my head. Then again, about the only thing I watched him in, with any frequency, was Crime Story; so, he's not exactly embedded in my head. I agree about Lucienne. The last couple of episodes greatly improved the character into something more than Captain Exposition.

Well, I did my part and finished the series (in so much as international viewers count.)

I need to crack on with this. I've only got as far as episode 5, so far.
I am enjoying it, and so is my wife, but it hasn't blown us away like some other Netflix or other streaming channels' series have. So, we've been watching an episode whenever we feel like it, rather than having that, "oh my God, we've gotta watch it all" kind of buzz. But, as I say, we are enjoying it, although it's definitely inferior to the comics so far IMO.

I still think Morpheus should have offered Lucifer to Rochambeau for his helmet.

I'm glad Dream of a Thousand Cats was animated instead of featuring CGI animals. I hate to be the one to break it to you......

I really enjoyed Sandman.
I was totally surprised at how FAITHFUL it was to the parts that mattered. Race-swapping, gender-swapping? Sure. Whatever. None of it mattered in the grand scheme of things. Remarkably, they got at the HEART of the story, and really did a great job at portraying the complexity of the character of Morpheus. He's noble, and just, and capable of deep emotions. He's also frequently a dick, and an unrepentant one.
They did a remarkable job, and I think Netflix would be crazy to not do season 2.

Copied from Facebook:
"Friday is the Deadline. That's when Netflix will stop keeping track of who has watched The Sandman. Watch the entire series (including the bonus episode). That's what they're looking at before deciding if there will be a second season."
Apparently the only metric that Netflix cares about is how many people have watched an entire series in the weeks following its debut. If you want more, let the series play all the way thru on a screen somewhere - they can tell if you run it in the background on a PC and that doesn't count.

If that is the deciding factor of a Season 2, then let it stand as a great experiment that did its job well. If Netflix can't see quality that will continue to find an audience, just as the comic originally did, then they are doomed to the failure they seem to court. These days of Corporate Caution are why nothing is innovated anymore; just the same crap recycled and resold, with a new coat of paint.

With a budget of $15 million per episode, I don't think Netflix are patiently waiting for it to find an audience. They're expecting it to be as popular as other big budget shows like Stranger Things and The Crown.

I've seen that number cited and the visuals don't live up to the figure, to me. There are good ones; but, the strength of the show is in the writing and performances. I think this could be done far more economically.

I think this could be done far more economically. A lot of that $15 million per is going to get quality cast and directors which is why you have those types of performances. If they skimp and make budget cuts, the cuts not going to come form SFX it will be in casting and directing, which will affect the quality of the show. -M
