Here are my choices:
Adventure Comics #300 (Legion of Super-Heroes!!) Detective Comics #307 (Batwoman!!) Flash #131 (Guest starring Green Lantern!) Justice League of America #14 Mystery in Space #78 Fantastic Four #7 Incredible Hulk #3 Journey into Mystery #84
That leaves me 4 cents for...something. I think candy cost 5 cents at this point so I'm not sure what I'll get for 4 cents.

This is a great month! I'd go with:
Archie's Madhouse #22 Boris Karloff Thriller #1 Dunc and Loo #5 Ghost Stories #1 Mummy #1 Poe's Tales of Terror (#1) Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen #63
With 8 cents left over. (TBH, though, I'd love that Linda Lark Registered Nurse)

Marvel has begun edging out Julius Schwartz's heroes and Popeye. I need a bigger allowance!
Fantastic Four #7 ($.12) Fractured Fairy Tales #1 ($.12) Green Lantern #15 ($.12) Incredible Hulk #3 ($.12) Journey into Mystery #84 ($.12) Justice League of America #14 ($.12) Strange Tales #101 ($.12) Tales to Astonish #36 ($.12) with 4 cents left over. Cei-U! Since I already own the Strange Tales and Astonish issues in the present, should I have picked something else?

Again, these are titles I would have bought at age 8. And I would probably have bought most of them even if I were an adult who'd gone back in time. It was the covers that always got me. (Not that there's anything wrong with that.)
Adventure 300
Batman 150
Blackhawk 176
Justice League 14
Our Army at War 122
Sea Devils 7
Superboy 99
Tomahawk 82
And four Tootsie Rolls.

dbutler69 : Thanks for the dollar Stepping into the time machine and with that dollar in hand, here's what I would get off the stands: Adventure #300: can't resists a cover like this, with the side panels featuring a variety of colorfully-costumed characters! Almost looks like a Weisinger or Schiff Giant comic, but it's not. Even so I'm going to grab this one. 12 cents. Black Cat #63: now this one *is* a Giant, containing reprints of the Black Cat's 1940/50s stories. I always loved those Harvey Giants, this one would be no exception. 25 cents --and worth it! Detective #307: Batwoman! Gotta have this one. 12 cents. Girls' Romances #87: looking at this on display in Mike's, I'm captivated by the colors--love the light blue, the yellow, the grey. And looking at the cover at the gcd, I see there's a difference between the line weights of foreground figures and the background, particularly the plane, which is drawn with a broken line. Interesting art. And it's Romita Sr. 12 cents. Justice League of America #1: again, can't pass up a comic with a variety of colorful costumed characters. 12 cents. Mystery in Space #78: love the colors/shadows here. 12 cents. Beany and Cecil #2: my nostalgia pick. I was an avid fan of the B & C TV cartoon show. 12 cents. Total: 97 cents. Enough left over to buy some licorice whips, I guess 3 of 'em

Your post made me notice that Dell dropped their price from 15 cents to 12 cents. I'll have to pay more attention to them again! Yes, a couple of months earlier Dell had parted ways with Western (Western was responsible for the majority of the content of Dell's comics). Dell was now creating/producing its own comic book material. I guess to help it remain competitive, Dell figured that it would be a good idea to get its cover prices in line with the rest of the industry. After the split, Western started its own imprint Gold Key, which made its debut in June 1962.
