- Detective Comics #298
- House of Mystery #117
Those two have the most intriguing covers, so they're the ones I'd see myself buying.
Sorry to say, but I can't see myself spending much money on comics in this post-EC, pre-Marvel market.

Aquaman #1 Archie #125 Showcase #36 (with the Atom) Twilight Zone #1288 That darn Dell 15 cent price tag on Twilight Zone means I can't get any more! Kona, Monarch of Monster Isle #1256 looks interesting, though, as does the Strange Adventures and the Peanuts comics, but I guess tough choices must be made.

Giant Batman annual 25cents Giant Superman annual 25 cents Archie's Madhouse 22 cents.
Went big with DC annuals and still have 8 cents in my pocket so penny candy here I come!

I would have had to buy the Batman Annual: 25 cents
Would've given Rawhide Kid a try: 12 cents
Maybe Tales of Suspense, too: 12 cents
And Tomahawk: 12 cents
Total: 61 cents
(I would've used the penny change from the dime I brought to school for my milk money.)

How did we get to November already?
I'll pick:
Amazing Fantasy 12¢ - Ditko Twilight Zone 15¢ - it's The Twilight Zone! What more reason do you need? Sea Devils 12¢ - Russ heath artwork Rawhide Kid 12¢ - Kirby art
These are mostly the things I'd most like to read now, though there's nothing there that I wouldn't have been interested as a kid as well. It's hard to play the "what would I have bought as a kid" game because, for one thing, what age are we talking about, exactly? By the time we started getting an allowance we were pretty big kids - probably around 12 or so. But if we're disregarding that and just thinking of our very earliest days as comics readers, I might have picked some tv-series comics like Sea Hunt or Rocky and Bullwinkle, since I remember liking those as a kid. Or maybe a Hot Stuff or something, I remember reading those a fair bit, though not buying them or asking for them, they just seemed to be around all the time, a bit like Archie comics. Also, I was more into WWII stuff and Westerns as a small kid than I am now, so it's possible I would have gravitated to some of those comics.
OTOH, I was into monsters and superheroes from an early age too, so my picks might not change all that much.

This really isn't an accurate view of purchasing. Because in ye days of older we never really had access to a full months choices. We were limited by whatever store(s) we shopped and how long issues would remain on the rack and if I had % in my pocket or waiting for my allowance.
Example is I had 2 Korean markets which each had a spinner rack display by the register. If 4 new copies of a title came in it was a question of who got there 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and who was 5th and after so missed out, hoping the other store had a copy. If not, my choices would change every day/week. Many a time I either never saw an issue I was waiting to buy or I missed out to someone who wad earlier and had money sooner.
You can only buy what is there...

I'll take...
Amazing Adult Fantasy #9 - Ditko. Rifleman #10 - for the cover, an Oddball classic. Showcase #36 - Atom by Kane & Anderson Tales to Astonish #28 - Kirby/Ayers cover & 2 stories, plus Ditko and Gene Colan
Rifleman is 15 cents, so it adds up to 51 cents, and I only get four comics. But that cover is so classic. AAF, Showcase and TtA are books I bought in previous months, so I'm continuing to collect them.
If I'd seen that Diver Dan comic when I was six, I probably would have chosen it; I was a big fan of the show. But in November 1961 I wasn't reading yet; I was only four and in my third month of kindergarten.

Contemporary me would pick: Aquaman #1 Green Lantern #10 Showcase #36 Tarzan #128 Four Color [Rocky and His Friends] #1275* Little kid me would pick: Batman Annual #2 Superman Annual #4 and spend the other dime on candy. Cei-U! I summon the Big Hunk!
* I'm pretty sure this is the comic my mother used to teach 3-year-old me how to read.

What a month! Tim Boo Baa and that Rifleman cover!
As a kid, I would've gone with:
Archie's Madhouse #17 Batman Annual #2 Life with Archie #12 Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen #58
Total: 61 cents. (I'm sure I could find a penny on the street.) (I'm trying to remember when those "Take a penny/Leave a penny" trays started to appear in stores. I don;t think it was before the mid-late 70s.)
Today, since I have that Jimmy Olsen, I'd probably replace that with Thirteen #2.

Mad #68 (great Don Martin cover).
Four Color #1275 (Rocky & Friends) that cartoon was brilliant and I'd likely have given the comic a whirl.
Honestly the other 20 cents would likely go toward SF digests or used paperbacks.
Though I'd be tempted by Amazing Adult Fantasy #9. That cover rocks.
Man, Archie was really leaning in to the Monster and Alien zeitgeist. Which is cool and odd.
That Dell Giant #53 is also tempting. Duck Christmas is always a joy even without Barks.
All of this is contingent on what age I was because 9 year old me, 14 year old me and adult me would have completely different priorities.

Amazing Adult Fantasy #9 because it’s one of the greatest comics ever.
Batman Annual #2 because I’m not stupid or crazy.
Gunsmoke Western #68 because I love Gunsmoke Western.
Which leaves eleven cents. If I can scrounge up a penny OR if my occasional babysitter Karen is at the register and let’s me have a penny credit, I’m getting Strange Tales #93.

- Sea Devils #3
- Twilight Zone #1288
I can't say no to a cover with a beautiful green-haired giantess with a pet sea serpent.
