Hmmm...
Present-day me picks:
Action #285 Fantastic Four #3 Flash #126 Justice League #9 World's Finest #123
1961 me picks:
Four Color #1270 (Bullwinkle) Four Color #1271 (Yogi Bear)* Huckleberry Hound #15 Justice League #9 Popeye #63
Animated characters were much more important than super-heroes to the 3-year-old beginning reader that I was.
Cei-U! I summon the different perspectives!
*Mike has the wrong Yogi issue of Four Color showing.

There was no 1961 me, nor do I know what that fictional person would choose, so here are the choices for now me:
Fantastic Four #3 Adventure Comics #293 (Legion of Super-Heroes) Justice League of America #9 Bullwinkle and Rocky #1270 (15 cents, I'm cleaned out, darn it!)

Magic Agents #2 (10 cents) love crystal ball covers Ellery Queen #1289 (15 cents) awesome cover and detectives... FF#3 (12 cents) great cover, dynamic superhero Star Spangled War Stories # (12 cents) dinosaurs and robot soldiers! Batman #145 (12 cents) great Joker cover, I loved Joker as a kid
I am a penny over, but I didn't spend any of my allowance last time, so I think I can cover it.

And that Son of the Joker story in Batman 145 ... that’s a favorite of mine. It’s one of those future stories where Alfred is writing fiction about what might happen to Bruce and Dick in the future.
I love the scene where Old Batman visits the Joker, who’s now retired and lives in a little cottage. He just wants to forget his criminal past and putter around in his garden.

Gotta spend wisely again so I can get 5 Comics for 50cents! So its Charlton to the rescue with 4 and ACG a single issue. And 10cents held onto for my next shopping spree so I can splurge on 12cens comics!
Magic Agent #2 Unusual Tales #32 Battlefield Action #40 Space Aventures #44 Kid Montana #33

Tough month that is wholly dependent on my age and interests.
Most likely scenario on a pure reading level is
Mad #69 Spaceman #3. Going on a limb with this one because I know nothing about it. But it seems up my alley and the Basil Gogos cover is a winner.
Other contenders
Fantastic Four 3 Four Color 1270 (Rocky & Bullwiggle) Uncle Scrooge 37

FF#3 - wouldn't want to miss an issue of this! Challengers of the Unknown #24 - curious about the Bob Brown Challengers; online samples don't look bad, at a glance MAD #69 - hard to resist, even at 25¢ Space Adventures #44 - with only 11¢ left, have to take a chance on a ten-cent comic, even though Im not sure if this was any good; cover looks interesting, at least
