One of my favorite songs is David Bowie's Life on Mars. Jessica Lange performed it last night on American Horror Story: Freak Show, and it was fantastic. Quite possibly my favorite song ever. I might start watching American Horror Show because of their good taste in songs.
Is Ms. Lange channeling Marlene Dietrich a little?

The first side of Hunky Dory is insanely good. I mean, the whole thing is great, but goodness gracious that first side.

American Horror Story is one of those shows I look forward to. It's gotten much better since the first season in my opinion, even though the first season wasn't bad. Season three was my favorite, and I already like this season.

I catch a few minutes of Forever when it's on after Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but I can't get into it. Forever seems to be a ripoff of that show New Amsterdam, which was pretty good but I don't need to see it again. Interestingly enough, both New Amsterdam and Forever are complete rip-offs of a novel named Forever by an author named Pete Hamill. Somehow, the creators of Forever are claiming that they were completely unaware of the novel of the same name and same premise, even though Hamill made a fairly big stink in 2008 when New Amsterdam ripped him off originally. I've been watching Forever for reasons that escape me. I think the premise, the actors and the characters are all more interesting than the actual show. They're stuck in service to another dopey network procedural. This week's episode in particular barely made any sense, and if a cop actually did half the stuff they do every week, that cop would be fired on the spot. At the least, just about every one of these cases would be thrown out of court for inadmissible evidence. haven't seen either show but I've heard of American journalist Pete Hamill - wrote the liner notes for Bob Dylan's Blood on the Tracks. Not to be confused with the great Peter Hammill from Van Der Graaf Generator.

Her character Elsa Mars is a German woman in 1952 Florida. She's kind of obsessed with Marlene Dietrich and has been trying to become the next Marlene for years & years. (PS. I switched out the video for another one without the framing.)

Survivor's Remorse on Starz with Mike Epps is kind of funny.

I've never watched it, but have a coworker that is a huge fan and tells me about it here and there. Most of his descriptions reminds me of the Simpsons episode where the biker gang kidnaps Marge to do their domestic duties for them, and Homer battles the gang's leader, where they "sword fight" with motorcycles. Yeah, that was an episode of Simpsons, meant to be ridiculous. I get the impression this show is suppose to be taken seriously.

It started out well enough, but there seems to be a positive correlation between stupidity and success.
