Holy frijoles! The season and a half of Jericho is awesome! Great drama and a completely unsubtle but well deserved crack at the GWB/Haliburton/Blackwater vision of what the world should be like. There's also a lot about the American spirit in there, both from the right and the left parts of the political spectrum. Despite its clear bias, the show isn't preachy and not all of its sympathetic characters would vote for Democrat. Storywise, I apreciate that tHere's no return to the status quo ante at the "end" of the series, even if we do reach a satisfying dramatic conclusion. The world has changed, and history goes on. Highly recommended. Gawd, that Netflix subscription is worth it! Is this a new show? I remember a friend of mine telling me about a science fiction show with that title a few years ago, a post-apocalyptic kind of thing, but that doesn't sound like the one you're talking about. I just finished watching Daredevil and was surprised how good it was. Definitely up there with the best superhero tv shows or movies I've seen. I might even rate it as the best I've seen, all things considered.

Yes, that's the one, although "post-apocalyptic" is too strong a term. The show follows the events in a small Kansas town after a major attack on the United States, but neither we nor the characters know what has happened for the longest time (since communications have been interrupted). At first all we know is that Denver was nuked; later we learn that more than twenty cities were, too; then we learn that this was a terrorist kind of thing and not a war... The society is obviously turned upsy-turvy, and we don't really know if the country has turned to anarchy or if the government has recovery operations well in hand. This evolves into an interesting political situation as the U.S are fragmented into three competing factions, with a certain private company pulling the most important strings... a company that might just be the one responsible for the nukings. It's more of a political/spy/action thriller than a post-apocalyptic show, really. Quality wise, I put it on par with the early seasons of Battlestar Galactica.

I watched the first season of Jericho when it was aired on CBS and quite liked it, but I think there was a delay for the second season, or it was a mid-season start for season 2 and I never got around to watching the rest of it. It's been a long time since I thought of that show. I do believe there was a comic continuing the story after the show finally went off the air.

Mr. Robot season finale *spoilers snipped without reading them, which was all kinds of tricky* This show was so much better than I was expecting from a USA drama. I'm three episodes in so far, and really enjoying it. Rami Malek and Christian Slater were on The Nerdist podcast recently, which is what got me interested in the show.

A fan-led campaign brought the show back two years later, but only for six episodes. The producers managed to wrap up the main plot threads satisfactorily (and since time was of the essence the pace is hectic!) but as with the fourth season of Babylon 5 you get the impression that the story was meant to last longer. Still, I didn't feel frustrated; the last episode is open-handed but doesn't leave us hanging, and it was more satisfying than, say, Galactica's non-sequitur. There were two comics series published after the show, and they are presented as seasons 3 and 4. They're said to be approved by the series' creators, so I'll probably give them a try.

Finished watching Bojack Horseman season 2 the other night really enjoy this series. One of the funniest, smartest and well written animated series out there.
I also started with the new season of Rick & Morty!

I gave The Muppets one episode. There were a few laughs to be found, but I found myself wincing far more often.
I'll give it another episode. However, with The Flash back the next week, I doubt I'll be staying any longer than that.

Just got around to watching the premiere of Blindspot on the DVR. I liked it. Not sure if I am 100% committed to a whole season, but there was enough to like about the set up and the characters to get me to tune into the next episode.
Still have to get to the premiere of Bastard Executioner, which is still sitting on the DVR to be watched.

Just got through Season 4 of Game of Thrones and started Season 5. I'm up to date on the books and only just going through the show. I think it was a little rough in season 1, but since then they've done a fantastic job balancing the adaptation with making a cohesive show that works on its own. I usually have a hard time enjoying adaptations where I've read the source material due to the inevitable and frequently excessive cuts, but in this show most of the the changes actually make sense and work well. The visuals are fantastic, too. I have a few nitpicks, and there are a few things they did that make you scratch your head, but by and large they did a really good job adapting ASOIAF.

The Bastard Executioner was really boring other than the brutal battle scenes which were kind of cool and the main character's hallucinations which were sort of interesting I guess. The two hour premiere was really hard to get through though so I didn't watch the third episode.
Minority Report was pretty mediocre and I think I'm gonna pass on the rest of the season. I thought Meagan Good who plays the lead is pretty hot though.

Watched the first episode of the new series of Big Bang Theory. After the dismal series finale (aka "worst episode ever"), I wasn't expecting much, but I didn't get even that.
Clueless, witless, & certainly humourless. Truly, madly, deeply awful.

Anyone else watching Blunt Talk on Starz? It's been pretty funny and it's kind of crazy seeing Patrick Stewart play a character like this. Both Brent Spiner and Richard Lewis are reoccurring characters and there are tons of great cameos. It's definitely worth checking out.
