In last week's Agents of SHIELD, they analyzed a guy's DNA and concluded that for lack of specific genetic markers, he was not an Inhuman.
Personally, judging from the image on the computer screen behind Simmons, I'd have freaked out at seeing that the guy had left-handed DNA. He's not an Inhuman, all right: he has to be no less than a freakin' alien!!!

Jessica Jones is off to a good start.
The first episode starts slowly but the ending is very powerful.

I don't know the character at all from the comics but might give this a try based on how good the Daredevil tv series was. It has the same look as Daredevil but is a lot less action-oriented, with more psychological terror, bordering on horror when we deal with the Purple Man. (He goes by his regular name in the tv series). I can't say that I was as hooked by Jessica Jones as by Daredevil, in part because none of the characters are particularly sympathetic (unlike Foggy, Karen, Matt et al.), but the strength of the ending guarantees I'll be watching the next episode. I'm just a bit disappointed that Carol Danvers was replaced by what seems to be Trish Tilby. I guess Marvel does intend to use Captain Marvel in its cinematic universe and didn't want to have two Carol Danvers around.

the best show on Television right now?
"Fargo"
hands down. .the new season has been absolutely SPECTACULAR, and what a revelation, who knew that Ted Danson and Kirsten Dunst were *such* good actors? You simply cannot take your eyes off the screen when they are on.
pretty much every actor is knocking it out of the park. . .

I guess Marvel does intend to use Captain Marvel in its cinematic universe and didn't want to have two Carol Danvers around. I'm six episodes into Jessica Jones, and I really like the series so far. I actually hadn't followed the comics. I only read the first two Alias TPBs in past month in anticipation of the series. The main motivations to watch the series was confidence that Krysten Ritter would do a great job as Jessica Jones and seeing that Daredevil turned out well. I agree that with assessment that it's a lot less action-oriented, but more psychological terror, than Daredevil. To me, one clear advantage of Jessica Jones over Dardevil is dialogue. That probably partially the acting, but maybe moreso the writing. I feel that Daredevil hit some false notes where the characters said things that felt like the product of screenwriter rather than people speaking. That was particularly the case in Matt's scenes with the priest. In contrast, Jessica Jones rarely has false notes like that. The Trish in the series isn't Trish Tilby. It's Trish Walker (i.e., Patty Walker).

Yes, although it remains to be seen how much of the character beyond the name will be in the series. They seem to be drawing on Timely Comics Patsy.

Anyone checking out the Expanse on SyFy?
I've wanted to dive into the novel(s) it's based on but never had the chance. I checked out the 2 part premiere and thought it was good (not great), and have the next 2 eps on the DVR to check out. It's a sprawling story with 3 main arcs going, but connections between the 3 are being woven. Good performances and a gritty style of sf in regards to space travel and the effects of colonization of the solar system. Worth checking out at least to see if it connects.

Its a big expensive elaborate production. It's interesting and mostly well done, but a tad slow and a little dull imo. Also seems to take itself too seriously and or they're trying too hard to be serious / believable / realistic? If that makes sense. I think I'm about four eps in? they need to start tying the storylines together quicker and better and generally pick up the pace all around to keep my interest.

Well made, good cast. I'm not sure why all the hype though.

The X-Files is back, and it's... okay, I guess.

The X-Files is back, and it's... okay, I guess. I was on the fence about this, and I ultimately decided against watching or recording it. I look at this like trying to get back together with an old girlfriend. What we had was great, but the relationship ran its course. Trying to rekindle it now after so many years apart, with only a one-night-stand (the most-recent movie) in the interim, is going to do nothing but tarnish our memories and leave us disappointed that we couldn't recapture the magic of the first go-round.
