The second episode was a little better. It felt more like an episode from the original than last night's.

Hey, I liked that first episode! It was like coming home again! Not all that original but the new twist on the conspiracy shows promise, and it was great to see these characters again (like seeing Chewie, Han and Leia recently).
Good thing it's on the net, though... I recorded half of a never-ending post football game commentary and only the delayed first half of the season premiere! Netflix has spoiled me with its view-on-demand system.

Whenever a sporting event or awards show is involved, you gotta' expect delays.

Wait, what?! Last night's episode wasn't the first of the X-Files current season? ? AND it was interrupted by a damn football game?? I should have KNOWN to avoid a tv show that airs on a damn regular cable channel. GRRRRRR. This is why I got out of watching "House" and "Criminal Minds". They were ALWAYS interrupted by stupid sports things I couldn't give two sh!ts less about. Damn, damn, DAMN.

Which is to be expected, the NFC Championship game to determine who goes to the Superbowl is always going to take precedent. Last night was the 2nd episode.

I wonder if these are available on On-Demand.

I wonder if these are available on On-Demand. Sporting events get higher ratings and generate more advertising revenue so they will always get precedent, plus they provide what networks call lead in audiences, i.e. people too lazy to change the channel after the event (as sporting events are usually watched live not on DVR) and end up watching and adding to the ratings of the event/premiere that follows. And it is usually an East Coast thing. And there was one time the sporting event did not take precedence and it is still remembered as an all time television blunder.... The Heidi game-M

Watched the first episode of the new X-Files. I will watch the next episode this evening. I am not disappointed. I'm not sure, but what I got from it, I think instead of going the route of "THE ALIENS DO EVERYTHING TO US AND THE GOVERNMENT COVERS IT UP.", it seems they are going a different route with "The aliens did do some things, but the government took from the aliens and now they use their things against us to control us." So, same, but different? I guess I'll find out either in the second episode, or throughout the season. Glad to have it back, though. It's been FOREVER.

I'm curious to see if it ends up being good. I dropped the X-Files before it ended since it seemed to have completely lost its way. I'm skeptical about the new series, but if it's good enough I might watch it on Netflix one day.

He is in the new season as well. Same actor, too.

Just tell me the new tv episodes are better than the movies...the last one was awful. I cannot tell you that because if I saw an X-File movie it was so long ago that I don't remember it. Or either it sucked so badly that I don't remember it.

Didn't they kill off the smoking man in the original series or movies? I guess it doesn't matter because they can bring anyone back if they want to badly enough.
