Homicide is better than The Wire.

For me, the best one is still "The Wire". I've been binge watching it since Easter and I'm about to finish season 3. If there's a better police procedural / crime drama I've yet to watch it. You still haven't see anything yet.

Homicide is better than The Wire. I'm remiss about older TV shows. I was sold "Oz", vehemently, and it disappointed.

Sucks you didn't like Oz, but I mean it's Oz. It's a direct-to-video level show that thinks the close-ups are what made Homicide great.

I don't think I'd call The Wire a "procedural." Every David Simon show is worth watching. I might even argue that each one is better than the previous series.

I'm rewatching both Battlestar Galactica and Band of brothers. Two excellent shows for different reasons. It's a pity their respective finales also had me in tears for different reasons: rage in the first case and awe in the other!

I watched an episode of Metal Hurlant last night. "Whiskey in the Jar." I was underwhelmed. Maybe the next one will be better.

Generation Kill was good, just not so good. Tremé has been on the decline since season 1, to the point where I didn't even watch the last one.

Galactica is pretty uneven, but the general feeling I get every time I watch it, is that I'm going to watch it once more.

I watched True Detective recently and really enjoyed it. If someone had told me that The King in Yellow would ever figure into a popular series a few years ago I would have laughed!
My wife is recovering from surgery and a friend suggested trying Supernatural just to burn a lot of time. She has watched more of it than me, but I've enjoyed it for the most part.

The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season finale was cheesy and fun.

Have to disagree with the notion that Treme' fell off at all. It remained compelling throughout. The storytelling was certainly subtle compared to most/all television. A lot of the arcs were more focused on each character than the Wire's "It's all connected" method. Although several episode each had a thematic connection of their own while following the loosely-connected characters.
I just hope Simon gets a chance to do another HBO project.

The Goldbergs is coming back next year. 1980s nostalgia done right. Lots of vintage toys featured on this show.
Star-Crossed ended on a cliffhanger that promised to open up the storytelling for season 2, possibly in a big way - perhaps even becoming more of a space-battle show than high-school soap? Doesn't matter, it's canceled.
