Mr Robot season 3 episode 1 "eps3.0_power-saver-mode.h" {Spoiler}It looked like Whiterose was building a Large Hadron Collider at the beginning of the episode but if it's what Angela was talking about then maybe it's more like the Irwin Allen TV series from the 60s The Time Tunnel.
Also Angela working for the Chinese this season and Darlene asking questions like she was wearing an FBI wire. Off to an interesting start I'd say. Best show right now, and I don't just mean "on air", but the best one among all those that still haven't ended. If only it had more episodes like the last one, or "eps2.9_pyth0n-pt1.p7z", it could very well be the absolute best.

Terror in the Woods - is a really good program about people experiences about the unknowns in the woods - it's on Destination America cable channel and I've been enjoying it very much in the past few weeks.

I really dislike Anime. I mean, I used to enjoy Battle of the Planets as a little kid, which I think I'm right in saying was a re-edited and re-tooled Japanese anime cartoon originally. But I tried watching Akira and Crying Freeman back in the '90s and thought they were both rubbish. Since then, I've pretty much written off anime as "not my thing".
However, tonight I caught episode 1 of Cowboy Bebop on the Viceland channel and I rather enjoyed it. I've downloaded the next few episodes as well, so I'll be checking them out in the coming days. Hands down, this is the most I've ever enjoyed any anime show though.

Hands down, this is the most I've ever enjoyed any anime show though. Cowboy Bebop is one of my top 5 all time favorite anime series. I'm surprised Viceland is showing it because it still airs regularly on Adult Swim. Unfortunately I stopped getting Viceland when I changed my cable package recently. Also there is an anime thread with tons of great recommendations if you're interested.

So Netflix is developing a choose-your-own-adventure style show aimed at adults for their streaming service. It's an interesting concept, and would make multiple viewing of content more viable and more attractive. I still think Marvle and DC need to develop choose-your-won adventure style digital comics aimed at younger readers to attract a new generation of readers to their characters and get people actually reading comics not just experiencing the characters in other media. -M

I was reading about it in the Daily Mail a month or so ago...honest! EDIT: I dunno which is the more embarrassing: that people might think I'm into Choose-Your-Own-Adventure porn or that I read the Daily Mail! I was only leafing through it at my Mother-in-Law's house because she gets it...honest!

Watching the first episode of T.J. Hooker with William Shatner on MeTV. I haven't watched the series before but it seems like a solid enough police procedural.

The concept and setting of this show intrigue me, but the music in the trailer seems an odd fit...
I'll have to check it out when it hits Amazon (hell I watched Roar with a very young Heath Ledger because it has a similar premise/setting when it was airing, so I can at lest give this a chance..)

How the hell do people watch Curse of Oak Island?
A buddy at work keeps trying to tell me to watch it and I just roll my eyes at him.
People still give Geraldo Rivera crap over “Capone’s Vault” and that was a 1 hour special...this show has been going on for 5 seasons now. Dozens of hours of guys playing in the dirt.
I’m pretty sure if the Holy Grail was unearthed, it would be all over every news station immediately and I wouldn’t have to tune into these jokers.

My wife and I watched the first season and part of the second before calling it quits. It was OK at first, as we thought they might legitimately find something cool, but then it became all about conspiracies with the Knights Templar and the Freemasons and so much "maybe this" and "maybe that" and "we're going to dig in a new place where somebody says they saw a chupacabra, which is definitely a good omen". One of the benefits of dumping our cable is that we no longer waste time watching crap like this just because it was available.

The end of the f***ing world is an 8-episode miniseries (25 minutes each, roughly) apparently based on a graphic novel. As with so many such things these days, it seems, it is amazingly good. Just shows what happens when you decide to create a show because you have a good story to tell instead of just a franchise to exploit! (Not hat Netflix has done badly with its franchise work, but you know what I mean).
It’s zany, it’s funny, it’s unusual, it’s just a little bit creepy, and it manages to be pretty moving too.

History channel is bringing back (or well rebooting) In Search Of, with Zachaery Quinto as host. I loved this show as a kid, and it was fundamental in developing the intellectual curiosity that drove me through undergrad and graduate studies and still fuels my explorations to this day, so I am excited to see what the new version has to offer. -M

TJ Hooker revival?

I've been watching Babylon Berlin, the German tv series on Netflix, set in Weimar Berlin. Great characters, great mysteries going on, tons of historical detail. If you've ever wondered how the Nazis could hoodwink a populace and take control of the country, this will give you some idea of what a mess the place was. Berlin was like a mecca for the dispossessed, the fatalistic, the political, the outsider, the intellectual, the revolutionary; you name it. It also had massive crime rings running about, tons of vice, multiple serial killers at large, and a tremendous cultural explosion. It's all there. Great Jazz Age music, too and it pays homage to people like Lang and Dietrich, along the way. NPR described it as "Cabaret on Cocaine." Here's a music video of some of the scenes, set to a musical number done in a nightclub, in the second episode...
