Comic books:
Desperadoes - Western horror. Start with the original mini that is definitely the best of them.
I'm having trouble finding who published the version you are suggesting. Dc had one and they mention IDW when I do a search.

Vacation first strike- This morning I watched Fort Apache for the first time. Thanks to Prince Hal for the suggestion. Very enjoyable although it moved slowly at the beginning. I didn't really know what direction the movie would take until they introduced the Meachum character who was despicable. Spoilers : The two main villains of the flic were Meachum and the Henry Ford character. It made me mad that they all got massacred because they refused to replace the person who was abusing the Indians in the reservation. Other impressions: It was nice to see how many actors I recognized from other movies. Shirley Temple was a surprise and they had many of the cast from the Quiet man movie. It was nice to see the culture of the frontier in their gatherings and the comic relief of the 4 drunks. Cue to 2:33 for the set-up for McLaglen's great line: "Well, boys, we've a man's work ahead of us this day." Glad you liked it, George!

I met with my 2 brothers today for lunch and we came back to my house and watched El Dorado.Nice standard Western adventure with all the macho mechanisms intact. What jumped out at me was the music was close to the Batman TV series as it was written by Nelson Riddle of Batman fame. We were all laughing when riffs of the Riddler and Joker were peppered in the movie.

I finished reading Conan the barbarian #19-26 as suggested by Roquefort Raider. Thanks man. Certainly Barry Windsor Smith at the peak of his powers . It was interesting to see Red Sonja at her beginning and maybe her best depiction. I understand that her series and development went downhill from there, but she was a very intriguing partner. BWS drew some awesome splash pages during this run which included Conan taking on some amazing looking creatures. The Black Cat and the jeweled serpent scenes were spectacular. With issue # 25 Big John Buscema takes over and you can see his superior storytelling skills make the book much clearer and he was always a master at body language. Great run.

I watched The Postman always rings twice, today. This is my first time watching Lana Turner in a movie. She was quite beautiful. The movie was all over the place , but interesting.

If it were me, I'd be watching plenty of genre films -- 50s Sci-Fi and film noir, 60s spaghetti westerns, 70s Shaw Brothers films and yakuza flicks. Maybe some samurai films.

I just finished watching Leave her to heaven , the Gene Tierney film. This film proves that Psycho B****s existed before the modern age.

The color, the sets, the weird relationship between her and her father, the absolute sadistic cruelty of that scene in the lake, and on and on. Tierney is excellent, like a twisted force of nature. NOw watch her in "Laura." Another different kind of movie, also excellent.

I think of Leave Her to Heaven as a Bette Davis movie where the Bette Davis character is as beautiful as everyone says she is. Because she looks like Gene Tierney.

Battles without Honor or Humanity is part of a series called The Yakuza Papers.
I love The Yakuza Papers! I watched them all on Tubi for free. I wasn’t that impressed at first. But by the time I got to the third one, I was thinking it was great and I watched #3, #4 and #5 in just a few days.
Harakiri is one of my Top Five Japanese movies. I’ve seen it a few times.
