I have my 12. But…two of them appear to have no representation on Google Images. Shame. It’s always nice to include visual images in a post.
Still, it’s nice to have my list of 12.

These are UK comics (which I no longer own), and this particular group didn’t make a cover. I’ve tried phrasing it in many different ways, but no luck. One of them is from Eagle (the 1982-94 version), and interior pages for that seem real hard to come by.
I’ll keep trying, though.

After initially thinking that this year's theme was gonna be hard, I've come to realise that I could probably populate my list with my favourite 12 super-villain team-ups from the pages of Amazing Spider-Man alone! I think in the interests of variety I'll try to keep my ASM picks to a maximum of two...or maybe three.

I was dismayed to realize that I don't have 12 favourite villain teams! Not in the sense that I'd really want to see them again, or would move a comic to the top of the reading pile just because of their presence.
As it is, I settled for the handful I really cared about, and filled the ranks with others I thought were a good idea or made a strong impression.
Life imitates art... I'm in the same quandary I'd be in if asked to name my favourite MCU villains!

I knew my #1 pick as soon as I read the theme, but I wasn't sure I could come up with many others. Turned out, I got up to 14, and have now narrowed it down to 12. I'm a little embarrassed that it's so top-heavy, with 4 Marvel, 7 DC and only 1 other. But that's the way of things, the big 2 being the bulk of my super-doer reading.
On the other hand, I've got one bad guy team-up that I'm pretty sure no one else will mention.

My Top 3 are locked and the remaining 9 I'll be winging it because that's how I usually do these things. While my selections this year will be Big 2 loaded as well but I'm sure I'll have some teams that many would've considered. That's what makes these lists so much fun. I know there's teams I didn't even think of, especially given the knowledge from everyone that participates. There's going to be great picks, that's for sure. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's lists.

Got my 12. My big regret is how repetitive my list is. While my long list had tons of variety, the bulk of my short list boils down to team-ups that occurred in Batman (4) and Avengers (4) stories. In fact, even then, two of my team-ups are remarkably similar to one another. I also only ended up with two team-ups from outside of Marvel and DC.
Ah well. The heart wants what the heart wants, right?

I believe my list is going to be divided into 2 types-super villain team-ups/teams I really like and those I have fond memories of from childhood but really only dig today when viewed through the lens of nostalgia. And I think my list may be more of the former than the latter because of the current peccadillos in my reading tastes. There only a handful of villain teams or team up that would interest me enough to read those stories on the merits of that factor alone these days, but there are plenty of such teams/team-ups I could name as having fond memories of reading when I was younger. I usually try to avoid indulging in nostalgia when I make my choices for this event, but this year's topic just presses those nostalgia buttons for me, so I am just running with it. I'd guess the top 3 maybe 4 will be those I still really dig, and the rest of the list will be filled out with nostalgic favorites.

Hey Cei-U!, quick last minute question: do the supervillains have to have originated in comics? Or can we pick, say, Darth Vader as one half of a pair, as long as it's a comic book appearance of Vader's we are chosing?

I believe Cei-U! already ruled that they can have begun elsewhere so long as you are ranking them based upon what happened on the comics page.

I saw the question asked earlier in the thread, but hadn't spotted an answer. Thanks, shax.

I'm going to enter in some zany selections. I have a few anti-hero teams that are villainous throughout their books but made my list because I love them so much on every level. -R

Is it me or is it a bit tough to find villain teams outside the Big Two? I have a couple of ideas but I don't think they constitute as a villain team. I can think of two from Bill Willingham's Elementals.

Is the post-Crisis Suicide Squad a supervillain team? I know some members weren't villains...
I don't think I can think of 12 that I really like but I am interested in seeing others' choices.
