This feels like it should be merged with the Meanwhile thread.

This feels like it should be merged with the Meanwhile thread. But if all the food talk gets merged into 4th Pip's food thread, all the other threads would be emptied out. Or ,at least, "threadbare"

I've even heard accounts of oafs in Wisconsin (I believe that's what residents of that state are called, right? "Oafs"?) who eat cheese that squeaks. I assume those are little cries for help by people who realize how awful it is to be live in Wisconsin. Imagine my surprise to find out that I am, apparently, an oaf. The only cheese that is consumed here that squeaks is either cheese curds or cheese that is already infested with mice. Cheese curds are small chunks of unaged cheddar cheese. The squeaky-ness is a sign of it's freshness. I can only conclude that Dan's cranky nature is a direct result of not getting to enjoy cheese curds and the fact that his cornbread has been deprived of sugar.

From Wikipedia -- Yam is the common name for some plant species in the genus Dioscorea (family Dioscoreaceae) that form edible tubers. These are perennial herbaceous vines cultivated for the consumption of their starchy tubers in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean and Oceania. There are many cultivars of yam. Although some varieties of sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas) are also called yam in parts of the United States and Canada, it is not part of the family Dioscoreaceae but belongs in the unrelated morning glory family Convolvulaceae.
Yams and sweet potatoes are indeed two different species. The confusion came about because one company that canned sweet potatoes (Bruce's, if memory serves) wanted a way to set their product apart from the others on the shelf. They found out about the African/Caribbean product called yams and took the name to plaster on their cans, thereby confusing generations of Americans (courtesy of Food Network, the Unwrapped show, I think).

The next day and a half is going to be tough, but after that I have several consecutive days off. I'm preparing for work at both jobs right now. Working at Pizza Hut until about 1am, then I have to hunt my sister down and switch cars with her so I can start getting ready for the next job at 5am. So when I factor in drive time and topping off the gas tank, buying lunch and some energy drinks, I'll have about four hours sleep. After the day job I have to find my sister and switch cars again, leaving all my tools with her, then I should have time for a short nap before I go in to Pizza Hut to close again. I can get my tools back on Thursday or something.

Also: I should make a "Good Afternoon" thread and have it be about afternoon plans and "what's for lunch??".
