Inspired by this year's 12 Days topic. We've all been trying to think of our favourite spin-off series, but what about those favourite characters that never were given one?
We were just talking about Love and Rockets in the 12-Days thread and it reminded me that there were a few characters that never got many or any stories that focused mainly on them. From the early days of Jaime Hernandez I always wanted to see more stories about Daphne/Daffy and of Gilbert's Palomar, Vicente.
From the Englehart/Perez Avengers, I wanted a Moondragon series with the same creators.
From MoKF, I would have read a solo series of almost any single one of the supporting cast, but probably Black Jack Tarr and Leiko Wu would be my top two; and Shen Kuei aka Cat. All written by Moench of course and drawn by Gulacy (magically endowed with the speed of Jack Kirby for the purposes of this thread).
From ToD, a Rachel Van Helsing series from Wolfman, Colan, and Palmer. Probably she would have to hunt other supernatural monsters instead of just vampires.
Did Clea ever get a solo series? I have a feeling she might have in the years after I stopped following but I doubt it was with a creative team I'd be interested in. I'd have Colan/Palmer or Brunner as the artist, but wouldn't turn down Dan Adkins or Marie Severin. Not sure of the writer for this one, since she was never written quite the way I'd have preferred.
A more obscure Doctor Strange character: Victoria Bentley. This one I would have drawn by Adkins, since it was his version that made an impression on me as a kid. She'd be a psychic or supernatural investigator of some sort.
I'll probably think of more later but that's enough for now.

Hmmm. Need to think about this after the CCXmas is done. I'm sure there'll be stuff I missed
I do agree with Shen Kuei. I always liked him and was happy seeing him show up in CableD/Deadpool.
I also agree with you on any and all L&R characters. I would've like to see a Doyle mini or Del Chimney from Jaime. From Beto, perhaps the early early days of Palomar, seeing the weird history of the statues that surround the city, more of the statues in the water; really learn the history of the town.

I'd love to see solo series for Stingray and Razorback, especially if they'd let me write them.

Has Professor X ever gotten his own title? A school-year-in-the-life entirely from his POV could be fun.

Possibly the most interesting character in Arkham...Victor Zsasz, also known as Mr. Zsasz. He first appeared in Batman: Shadow of the Bat 1. Someone like him is meant for the mature Black Label line. If Jack the Ripper can have graphic novels, or movies, Zsasz fits the bill for DC.

Two-Face and Terra-Man are some of my favorite DC villains, and both could sustain at least a solo miniseries. I could easily see a Terra-Man tv series working out nicely. This year's contest had me wishing DC had done something more with Cassandra Craft after she was dropped as a Phantom Stranger supporting character, and I seriously think there's some good stuff that could be done with Kirby's Black Racer as a solo series, as Kirby originally intended.
From Marvel, I'd love to see Kurt's Stingray; that costume alone sold me on the character at first glance. Back in the days of the New Defenders, I remember wanting to see more of Overmind, whose visual design and basic concept fascinated me.

Are you trying to tank the entire Star Wars Franchise?

Wong: see him try to get the Hoary Hosts of Haggoth out of the master's cape!
Watch, as his chocolate souffle falls, when the Hulk smashes through the wall, while arguing with Bird Nose!
Watch, as he tries to pirate cable with the Orb of Aggomato!

Haven't read any of Shen Kuei's post-MoKF appearances but I never liked the idea of the MoKF crowd mingling too much with the superhero stuff.

I'd love to see solo series for Stingray and Razorback, especially if they'd let me write them. Cei-U! I summon the wish list! Stingray could have been on my list if I'd thought of him. Great costume and nice overall concept. Can't remember anything about Razorback, though I have a mental image (in contrast to Stingray, not a good one, to be honest) so I must have seen something somewhere, perhaps online. Were they a duo or part of a team at some point? I had been assuming Razorback was a villain but now I realise that I really have no idea.

Were they a duo or part of a team at some point? I had been assuming Razorback was a villain but now I realise that I really have no idea. Razorback a.k.a. truck driver Buford Hollis was a very minor super-hero appearing in early issues of Spectacular Spider-Man. I would write his adventures totally tongue-in-cheek, like "Smokey and the Bandit" in a pig costume. Stingray I'd do straight. I can't see the characters functioning as a team, but maybe that's a failure of imagination on my part.
Cei-U! I summon the unlikely duo!
