I thought of another one: Wonder Man. I much prefer the original costume to the safari jacket, which thankfully came along after I had stopped reading the Avengers. I also liked Perez's IMO unjustly ridiculed "Christmas tree" redesign. *Adopts Bill Lumbergh’s voice* Oooh...yeah, ummm...I'm gonna have to go ahead and sort of disagree with you there.

Wonder Man's best costume is the black and red one. The worst is the jetpack version. Nuff said.

Personally, Wonder Man's 'safari jacket' costume has always been my favourite.

The original Ant-Man helmet has been ruined by efforts to make it sleeker and more high-tech-looking. I loved Kirby's original over-all costume conception, even though he quickly streamlined the costume details, making it less obvious that the initially big dot on the chest was meant to suggest an ant's thorax. At least the helmet continued to evoke the image of an ant's round head and its mandibles. I didn't like the helmet being taken away when he changed to Giant-Man, but I suppose the thinking was that its presence would immediately make the reader wonder how the metal enlarged rather than crushing Henry Pym's head; it's a little easier to accept the notion of a stretchy mask expanding. And while I didn't care for how the basic costume designed looked at the larger Giant-Man scale, it was kind of clever that the chest dot design was replaced with a design that suggested suspenders, which somehow implies height/growing, in my mind, anyway.

I forget which came first, the purple or the red, but I liked both of those early Hank Pym Goliath (edit: or was it Giant-Man?) costumes way better than the later one when Hawkeye took over the rôle.

Count me in for the safari jacket for Wondie Dude. Gave him a Doc Savage look. I could see Ron Ely playing Wonder man, in the 1970s.
I kind of preferred the blue and Yellow Goliath costume to all of Hank Pym's variations. Nice color combination and overall styling.
I definitely preferred Paladin's original look to the redesigned purple body armor suit. I liked the swashbuckler stylings and the padded chestpiece; I just thought the color scheme was wrong, with the purple and mint green. A nice dark blue and silver, like Foolkiller, would have made that look spectacular. Always felt he was a character with a lot of potential who was rarely and poorly used.
