Thor Vs. Hulk. Superman Vs. Doomsday. Spider-man Vs. Green Goblin. The history of comics are full of great showdowns and slugfests. name some of your favorite battles.
I'll Start- Hulk Vs. The Thing in Fantastic Four #25-26. The hulk goes on a rampage and the Thing pits himself against the Jade Giant. I loved the pacing and various locales that this fight went through. I loved that the Thing was soundly beaten at the End of #25 . He picked himself up and was determined to keep fighting no matter what. Issue # 26 has the Avengers enter the fight and amp up the awesomeness of the conflict.

Mine would be SPIDER-MAN VS. JUGGERNAUT; In few occasions is this more evident than when Spider-Man took on the unstoppable Juggernaut in “Amazing Spider-Man” #229 and 230 in a story (written by Roger Stern and drawn by John Romita, Jr.) appropriately titled "Nothing Can Stop the Juggernaut." The highlight of all this is when Spider-Man's had a plan is to drive a gasoline truck into the Juggernaut, with Spidey leaping from the truck before it hits, causing a giant inferno. Spider-Man's first instinct is horror – he feels that he just murdered the Juggernaut! However, his fears are allayed as the Juggernaut calmly walks out of the inferno, but now he has a new fear – he's finally made the Juggernaut mad! During the fight, they walked into a patch of quick drying cement; In the muddy concrete, the Juggernaut cannot get any kind of traction to pull himself out, and only sinks further! Spider-Man leaps away as the Juggernaut sinks fully into the concrete – the unstoppable Juggernaut was stopped cold! One of my favorite Spiderman Story! Holy Crap! ... it's a late entry for the Silhouette Comic Book Cover, why I didn't think of that!

Wein & Wrightson's Swamp Thing is full of great battles; Arcane's brother, an alien, a bear, a werewolf, a robot, a mystical creature. All done with Wrightson's superb handing of the pencil. By far my favorite Swamp Thing.

Shang Chi vs The Cat, Shen Kuei, in MoKF's "Fight Without Pity". Also Shen Kuei vs the gangsters right before that. Paul Gulacy and Doug Moench. Moench and Gulacy also had some nice fight scenes in some of their Batman miniseries of the 80s or 90s, forget when, exactly - I read them as back issues, long after they were first out. Can't think of anything specific right now, but I recall liking a lot of fights in Gene Golan's Daredevil run, especially in the more action-oriented earlier part of that run when he was inked by Frank Giacoia and others, before the more atmospheric artwork of the Syd Shores and Tom Palmer inked issues. Here's a sample: Captain America vs an LMD of himself, in CA 106, "Cap Goes Wild":

I don't know if I can name a favorite, but one memorable one that comes to mind is the "sparring" match between Wolverine and Shingen in issue #1 of the Claremont and Miller's Wolverine limited series. It isn't the action itself that makes it memorable, but the way the fight perfectly contrasts the two characters. Logan is a mutant, powerful, strong, fierce, but also wild, unpredictable, and uncontrolled. Shingen is a human, older (at least, he has aged more though Logan is technically older), and ostensibly disadvantaged, yet he is also quick, precise, disciplined, and focused. It's a fight that, on paper, you'd think Logan would easily win given his natural advantages. But the way he not only loses, but is so thoroughly shamed in the fight, serves to really drive Shingen's point home more than any bit of dialogue or exposition could -- how can such an unrefined, uncontrolled, brute of a man be worthy of Mariko's affections?

Every fight scene in Takehiko Inoue's Vagabond is excellent but the story arc where Musashi takes on the entire Yoshioka School after they ambush him is an epic blood bath.

Daredevil vs The Punisher in Daredevil #182-183.
Miller set up a classic battle of ideologies that continues to this day and boy is it sweet.
