The one that gets me misty every time is when the Thing fought the Champion in that Marvel Two-In-One annual.

She-Hulk versus The Champion was also pretty good.

Plenty of Kirby, not enough Ditko! Some great battles:
Spidey's second fight with Doc Ock, beginning on the NY rooftops and culminating in a burning building. (No one did wild, waving appendages like Ditko!)
Doc Strange dueling Dormammu not with magic bolts, but with weird pincer-devices that extend from the wrists of each combatant.
Much less heralded, Shade the Changing Man in combat with Khaos, a fellow emitting such wild electrical discharges as to make Ditko's own Electro look like a piker.

Love those full-sized panels of Spidey clobbering Electro, Sandman, Mysterio, Kraven, the Vulture and Doctor Octopus (the Sinister Six!) in Amazing Spider-Man Annual #1!

Great topic. I second Slam's choice of Cap vs. Batroc, but for me the Namor vs. Iron Man slugfest from Tales To Astonish #82 just edges it out. It is nearly 10 pages of a non-stop Kirby orchestrated ballet of violence. Never did a duet of fisticuffs look so beautiful. Here is a sample.

Looks like Superman's fighting the love-child of Sylvester Stallone and Billy Joel (of the Kryptonian Els?) here.

Avengers #22 of the Busiek/Perez run, beginning with this panel and lasting for over 6 pages is a personal favorite.
Also on my list: Bullseye vs. Elektra - Daredevil #181 Cap vs Red Skull - Captain America #300 Hulk vs Thor - Defenders #10 Avengers vs Masters of Evil - Avengers #273 - 277

I've never read this comic but that does look like a good one It also reminds me that when I think of a "slugfest", I picture more of a long, evenly matched, hand-to-hand struggle rather than one-sided smackdowns like almost all the Superman and Batman examples here - yet another reason I find those characters so deadly dull to read.
