I never thought Joker 2 would bomb worse than Furiosa...and I did like Furiosa....but to go from a billion dollar Oscar Winner, that the first Joker was, to a complete flop that the sequel is, is just mind-boggling terrible. Joke's on you Hollywood....
....and yes, I looted Icctrombone's thread title, the Joker made me do it.

Joker wasn't good. Joker 2 looked terrible from the jump.

2024 certainly has some of the biggest Hollywood flops of all time, both financially and critically
Joker 2 Megalopolis Horizon An American Saga Chapter 1
Madame Web
Furiosa failed at the box office but I quite liked it. I'm sure I'm missing something and for sure there will be a few more added to the list before the year is done
A busy year for failure

Hollywood remakes of foreign films can be as good or better than the originals. The Ring (Ringu) and Sorcerer (The Wages of Fear) are two examples.
Sometimes the suits are right. Does anyone besides Walter Hill like the Warriors director's cut with the comic book transitions?
There, I said it.

Now that it's done so badly, I actually really want to see Joker 2 now.
What's wrong with me??

It's an abomination and spoils the film. It's especially annoying in that scene just before the Baseball Furies are introduced.

Yes! That's the worst-example part I always think of also.
I was happy that the new 4K release finally gave us a nice restored copy of the theatrical version after the DC got the only Blu-Ray release. Interestingly, the DC is simply called "2005 Alternate Version" now.

If you hate a new movie, look at the bright side... Its Pitch Meeting spoof will be great!

I saw Sorcerer for the first time when it had a limited re-release last year and thought it was fantastic but I wouldn't necessarily say it's better than The Wages of Fear: for me, they're so different in tone and style it's more or less pointless to compare them - like asking if Treasure of the Sierra Madre is better than Dog Day Afternoon.

Sorcerer, I would say about as good, not better. Some things about it I liked more, some less. I did like The Ring more than Ringu.
I do like that both those remakes are different enough from the originals to make a good double feature pairing; that's the best kind of remake, I think.
