I had no doubt the movie would look good, the budget for the CGI/SfX was ample, however the trailer does nothing to alter the story/re-conceptualization of the FF that is at the heart of all the criticism of the movie. I don't care if the movie looks good if it is still a dog of a story based on a bad interpretation of the concept, and I do not have enough a magpie's "ooh shiny" mentality to be distracted by as slick trailer that is a new coat of paint on an old turd of a project.

As long as they keep Doctor Doom as a trouble making blogger I can't see how it would be a bad movie.

This just shows that making a decent FF movie is possible at least, this just isn't it. If ever there was a property Disney needs to get back FF should be it, I feel like they could knock this out of the park.

Susan certainly looks like a much better choice this time round.

Why do they all look like they're 15? Because that's the demographic Fox wants to get for this movie.... -M

Could it be worse than the ones that already exist? I thought the last 2 films were good. At least they made to the theater, unlike the 90's one.

I still expect this to be a monumental crap-fest, but as others have said, it does look better than expected.

Other than Chiklas as Ben there was nothing about the first two that held my attention. The effects looked cheaper than the Spider-Man, the X-Men and even the Blade Films and the dialog sounded like something out of a bad 80's cartoon. Despite all the terrible things we've heard about regarding the lack of faithfulness to the source material this has some serious effects and the actors didn't look bored so it's like a half step forward.

Other than the shot of the back of the Thing at the end, I'd have no idea this was the Fantastic Four, which is the main criticism, I think. It looks like most of the sci-fi that hits the movies these days.. not particular good or bad.

I still expect this to be a monumental crap-fest, but as others have said, it does look better than expected. I read UFF up through the first 50 issues and it was. . .okay. Very hit and miss and the pacing was positively glacial, a feature of many modern comics.
I received Essential FF Vols. 4 & 5 for Christmas and I've been appreciating those immensely. Not seeing much in the trailer that calls those stories to mind. The family dynamic is absent; it looks like four separate characters on four separate journeys (I know that isn't a fair judgment from just a teaser). It looks big for sure, but it doesn't look grand IMO. Ah well, back to the Stan, Jack, and Joe Show.
