This trailer reminds a lot of the early Man of Steel trailers. If it turns out to be anything like that wreck, I will be glad to have not spent my money on it.

I will never see this movie. I'm pretty sure I will see this movie. That is, when I can see if for free, like on cable, Netflix, or borrowed from the library. I'm no where near interested enough to pay money to see it. But I figure I can't complain about it if I haven't seen it, so I don't want to pass up on being able to complain. Same reason I watched the 90s version on YouTube.

How are you arriving at that figure? Unless the mortality rate among nerds 35 - 65 has suddenly sky-rocketed, your number is appallingly low. No disrespect, but are you perhaps posting from inside Latveria? 20K probably is a on the low side but the point he was making isn't wrong the general populace of movie goers is far larger than FF fans. I was reading this thread earlier and a though occurred to me that makes this point to a degree. A few nights ago, my wife shows me this picture someone put on Facebook of Groot (from the GotG movie) and a John Boehner, making a joke that he was a brown as Groot. I've been reading comics for twenty years and until the Star Lord mini from Annihilation I HAD NEVER heard of Groot! The masses can't be underestimated. That comparison before the GotG movie came out would have never occurred or if it had the source would have been a comic book reader, not some gal my wife knows from a parenting/infertility message board she's been a member for 10+ years that saw the movie with her kids. I think we are a very small percentage of the total money these studios rack in, and they know what pleases the masses, that's why they are successful movie studios.

Summer Blockbusters just simply aren't the films that I enjoy. I have never seen Cameron's Titanic for instance. As a huge fan of the Criterion Collection I have about 600 films in the cue before the FF reboot.

Also remember that these movies tend to do well overseas whether or not the characters are familiar with the audience.

The trailer looked solid if generic. If it weren't an FF movie, I would probably be interested in it.
Most superhero films I see opening night. This is a wait-for-reviews movie.

I must learn that wishing things to be does not make them so. Good discussion and I stand corrected, but at least I still stand.

This is interesting Wesley and I can see why they are going to go to a different direction for the sake of the younger fans of the Fantastic Four and having said that I'm going to back out and respectfully not to see this movie at all. I have to wait for my friend approval before seeing it. This is a good video and I just wanted to say thanks for posting it.

Most people with a passing familiarity of something they liked when they were ten are not going to be bent out of shape if minute details are not true to the comic they have a vague memory of drawing mustaches in when they were little. I have to disagree. Ninja Turtles: www.rottentomatoes.com/m/teenage_mutant_ninja_turtles_2013/
Despite high production value AND a rejection of the core fan base, it did. not. succeed.
Rotten Tomatoes is NOT a measure of success... I thought it was a fun movie, and it made almost 200 million domestic, and just under 1/2 billion worldwide. just because a handful of british dudes don't get it doesn't mean it's bad.

Didn't used to be that way. I thoroughly enjoyed the Lethal Weapon series, the newest Rambo, Desperado and Snatch and any number of buddy cop movies. Can't stand the Transformers, Fast And Furious, Expendables stuff though. I think maybe the budgets are too big now, the spectacle too big.

Man of Steel was, for the most part, a terrible mess. There were a couple things I liked in the first half, but so much of it was so bad that it makes my innards shrivel to think that Zack Snyder is going to be the architect of the rest of the cinematic DCU. What dour, dreary and overwrought place that looks to be.

Yeah, I do kind of admire that Snyder was bringing his own vision to the Superman movies and not following the comics. I just thought that every specific choice he made in terms of approaching the material was terrible. Superman needs to be a little bit fun.

I just wish Lois was hotter. And acted more like Lois. Amy Adams is a fine actress, but she's 40. I thought Olivia Wilde would have been a better choice. She's 10 years younger and actually looks the part naturally.
