John Severin. Johnny Craig did some DC House of Mystery or Secrets. A whole bunch did DC work before going to EC like Frazetta,Kubert and Dave Berg I can see I'm gonna need a whole box of Q-Tips. Though, to be fair, I was talking post-Code. You can find almost all the EC staffers working at National, Timely, and others before the New Trend.
I thought you were mistaken about Kubert at EC, but I completely forgot he worked briefly on Two-Fisted Tales. Don't think I've ever seen it.

Loved those early Superman Annual cover layouts Superboy? Yes. Supergirl? Definitely. Lana Lang and Lori Lemaris? Uh-huh. Krypto? Gimme. But Super-Baby? I just can't. It seems to prove the old adage that after you've scraped the bottom of the barrel, you can still look UNDER the barrel, and there you'll find Super-Baby. Do not want. Attempting to gather all the first appearances of the various Kryptonites required me buying a Super-Baby comic (retch). I'm a good sport and I know these stories weren't intended for adult me, but little kid me blanched at them as well.

Almost as good as those Space Canine Patrol stories. Remember those? Tusky Husky, Tail Terrier, Hot Dog. Big dog, big dog, bow wow wow! We'll stop evil, now now now!

Us am not sure what bad mans Phil Maurice has against Superbaby. I knew there'd be a fan out there to check me (in Super-Baby speak, to boot). I hope you're getting the help you need.
If it helps, I also hated it when Gerber turned Magneto into a baby. Babies. Yuck.

Alex Toth also did a couple EC stories after being at National. And I think Krigstein did a couple things for DC early in his career. Also, Harvey Kurtzman worked for Stan before going to EC. And if you're going to count Dave Berg, Al Jaffee worked on Timely's teen books as well. Fun Fact: When Murphy Anderson first arrived in NYC, he went to EC and they asked him to come back and they'd assign him a story. But in the meantime, he went to DC and got a script right away (and plenty after that) so he never went back.

It's 'cause they'll crush your head like a grape and then giggle at the hillarrious way that blood gooshes out all frothy and red. I'm with ya, though, Hoosier. I think Superbaby's really funny.

They wouldn't fly today, of course, but they were fun for the time. My favorite story has Superbaby looking for a pet to own (Krypto is still floating around in space).

That's the one I was thinking of when I was said they are hysterical. He just wants a pet! How about that kitty? Reaches out for 1000-pound lion at zoo. Flies into space and chases bizarre electricity beast.
The finest quality Silver Age crack.

Heh. Not what I'm looking for in a Superman story today, but it was fun reading it back in the '70s in reprinted form and even still today.

I can't stand infantilized versions of characters. X-Babies, Muppet Babies, Little Archie. God, they are all horrible. That's exactly what I want to read, stories pandering to cat ladies who collect Mary Englebreit calendars.
