Finished up the Essential Spider-Woman... the last few issues by Ann Nocenti. That was something! She created a bunch of characters just to never use again? (at the time) I guess when you get a swing at the Marvel Universe you give it a shot and see if anything sticks? Very interesting to think about... and something that never in a million years would happen today.

Around the time of the mad cow disease scare in the UK, Grant Morrison and Mark Millar wrote Skull Kill Krew, in which some of those who ate the meat fron Skrull cows developed skrull-like abilities. That's what I was thinking of! I definitely have that series!

I agree that it's pretty fun when they do that

Has anyone read Tom King's Supergirl Woman of Tomorrow? I see they are using it for an up coming movie. Is it any good? While I have liked some of King's series, my main complaint that they have him do 12 issues series that should be 6. I accept going in that they will be darker than normal comic fare.
It’s written by Tom King so my guess would be a resounding no. I was looking forward to it... but couldn't find the trade, so I ended up attempting it on hoopla. It was horrendous. The character in the comic had nothing at all to do with Supergirl. I gave up mid way through issue 2 If you want your Supergirl as a millenial 20-something that gets herself in a dangerous predicament because she was drunk in a bar in some random planet, then, by all means, you should read it

That's why spring is kinda exciting.. right now, you can HOPE Duvall will hit 30 homers, Mondesi will play all year and hit .280 with 70 steals, and Yoshida will be a sensation and be a great lead off guy with an .800 OPS.
Realistically, much of the teams success will hinge around how much they get out of Sale, Paxton and Kluber. If they can all be productive starters, that a pretty good rotation along with Pivetta and Bello... and that makes the bullpen I think excellent if you add Whitlock and Houck to the new additional.
I think if that happened, it wouldn't be unreasonable to see a wild card berth. With the way the AL is set up and the balanced schedule, I'd say its not just possible but LIKELY that all the wild cards will come out of the East, so 4th place in the division could easily be a play off spot.
Who I'm going to be watching REAL closely is Cedanne Rafaela. I have a feeling Bloom thinks he's the second coming of Mookie Betts... and may well break camp not just on the roster, but as a starter. But we'll see.

Would Superman 75 (Death of Superman) qualify?
Our boy is not supposed to get himself perished.
But the storyline got little Rags into the comic store.
I think no, but maybe any time you bring someone back to life would count?

I think I agree with mrp... it's only a retcon if the next writer picks it up. Writers nearly always explain what they're doing.. unless you're talking about a minor factual mistake like Batman's parents ashes. THat's not really going to be the basis of a story though.
If you going that route, are coloring errors 'ignoring continuity'?
I also think I agree with Slam, it's comics, it's what happens.

So the big kick off for 'Dawn of DC' is.... the next part of an ongoing story.
Action Comics 1051 features the Kents officially adopting the War World refugees (which Jon seems not OK with)... I'm thinking this is to make the book more like the TV show.. they twins are not the same genders, but seems like it will give the book a similar vibe, assuming Jon goes off on his own (which seems like is happening).
I'm fine with that, since they aged him, the only interest I've had in Jon is his interactions with Nightwing to be honest.
The 'main' story I guess is John Henry Irons building a Baxter Building-like tower in the middle of Metropolis, and Metallo blowing it up. To be continued.
While this was a perfectly fine ongoing chapter of the current Superman story (which I'm enjoying, though it's far too de-constructed) as the first part of a poorly promoted re-boot? not so much.

Are you still reading Captain America The Captain and majestic ? I was enjoying the mystery of the run but since Bucky became a member of the circle it just really imploded for me to the point that the latest issue was nearly unreadable. Not sure I'm going to be getting the next issue. I am, but I’m not really enjoying it. The whole MODOC and AIM taking over NYC story is absurd, as though no other heroes would show up to do anything, so it’s up to just Cap and his little band of friends. Bucky joining the Circle is another weird one that I haven’t figured out yet. From the previews I saw this week, it looks like Bucky teams up with White Wolf and that is what causes the crossover between the two Cap books, but since I’m barely invested in the Captain Samerica book at this point, who cares? The ending of Strange was a disappointment and She-Hulk has been pretty to look at but boring to read, leaving Moon Knight as the only current book that I pick up that I really look forward to. That's what got me to drop Cantwell's Iron Man book.. Frogman was the best TONY STARK could do to help him fight Korvac? Really? I'm not sure of writers aren't allowed to share, or just choose not to, but this is why the Marvel Universe doesn't feel like one anymore. If MODOK took over New York, where was Mayor Luke Cage, or the Thunderbolts (his official superheroes). Spidey? The X-Men, who now live in a giant tree house in the middle of the city?

I feel like Truck day hasn't been a big thing for a while.. the sports radio people still mention it, but it's not a thing anymore.
I AM excited for spring training though! Boston definitely has some things to figure out, which will at least be interesting!

They've gone back to the a couple times.. I feel like there was a thing about it more recently too Some story where the milk from the skrull cows (or maybe their decendents) were giving people powers.

And I still think it’s the ultimate finisher, although it’s not really a finisher now. Makes me smile, some moves that were finishers in the 80s (and even 90s) are now transitional moves. I think it is, it's just got flourishes. The Cross Rhoades is essentially a reverse DDT. Moxley's Paradigm Shift is a straight DDT with extra oomph. Orange Cassidy uses a weird flippity version that's not his finisher, but that he's definitely won matches with.

That's quite a list!! What'd you think of Suicide Risk? I remember really being into that when it came out, but I don't really remember it now. Six Gun Gorilla is the book that sold me on Su Spurrier.. so fun!
