I'm still disappointed that they never ended up coming out with that 'RGK: Drawings of Women' or whatever the title was going to be. It's still listed on goodreads with an ISBN and everything but apparently it never was actually published.

That is an affirmative on having Swordsmen and Saurians and RGK: the Art of Roy G. Krenkel. Such a superb artist IMO and I love his sketching/pencils.

Been waiting and wanting and hoping Collins would get around to letting this Fem Fatale get a primo collection. No other news at this time but to know it is coming is news enough for me!
EDITED: looked on Amazon and is up for pre-order due out July 16. collects the 1st 5 issues in hardback for $29.95.

Well, it's official. No Tarzan omnibus collecting the complete Marvel series with art by the Brothers Buscema. Just received an e-mail from Amazon, notifying me as follows:
Otherwise, I'd been getting periodic e-mails for the past month telling me to confirm that I was still interested in the item and that if they don't hear from me by July 26, the order would be automatically cancelled. But it looks like the book just isn't going to happen in any case.

I hadn’t heard of this being announced, let alone canceled. That’s a book I would have purchased. Yeah, me too, obviously. Near as I can tell, it was announced about 3 years ago. I had it on preorder since July 2017, so exactly two years, but the publication date just kept getting pushed back about every six months - something I've commented on several times upthread - until finally being cancelled altogether. Really disappointing, as I think this is a book that should have happened a long time ago, like even before the Warlord of Mars omni Marvel published a few years back.

Pretty much figured after nearly 3 years this was deader than a parrot (Python joke) which is why I went ahead and started getting the singles at the Fan Fusion con this year. Sad really, because this would be one gorgeous omni. Wonder if any possibility for a black and white printing to cut costs? Warlord of Mars only got printings thank to the publicity for Disney's movie. Tarzan omni should have come out when the Tarzan movie did but nooooooooooo. Idiots

Warlord of Mars only got printings thank to the publicity for Disney's movie. Tarzan omni should have come out when the Tarzan movie did but nooooooooooo. Idiots I made that exact same point on this forum before, maybe even upthread (too lazy to go look); seems like it would have been a no-brainer - maybe it would have come through if, as in the case of the Warlord of Mars book, its publication had been turned over to Marvel. Whatever the matter, I agree that in this case Dynamite had some idiots working on this. As to a possible b&w book, maybe like an Essentials or Showcase phonebook - I don't know if I'd be interested, because after seeing how beautiful the Warlord omni is, I don't think I could settle for anything less with the Tarzan material.

Received a glorious pair of books from Amazon last night. Delivery of Stan Sakai's 35 years of Usagi Yojimbo Covers and the Roy Krenkel Centennial Celebration. Both are 313 pages of the most amazing and incredible art you can ever drool over! Both artists at the furthest ends of the art spectrum from each other and yet both of these books show the true genius and abilities of them in a most beautiful way you might ever imagine.
Stan's cover art is shown here in full over-sized pages in stunning color without all of the cover type and logos. This means each page is a print suitable for framing if you were inclined to destroy the book. This book provides an opportunity for viewing the growth and the creativity Stan has developed for his art and cover works. Many of the covers acting as portraits of the cast of characters while others showing a brief moment of action or mystery or horror or surprise or quiet reflection in telling a story with a single image. Taking the basis of anthropomorphic animals outside of the "funny book" premise, Stan has created a modern wonder of storytelling in writing and artistry that shows us wonders and delights to amuse while making us think deeper thoughts and considerations. A true master of art is our Stan Sakai and if you love Usagi and Stan this book should be on your shelf in a prominent place of display!
Krenkel's book is one of the most scrumptious packages I have ever seen in art books. Roy Krenkel was a master craftsman whether it be in pencil, ink, watercolor, oil, charcoal or any other form. He was constantly drawing on any blank sheet he might find, utilizing the backs of letters, backs of envelopes, tracing paper, vellum, art board or nearly anything else at hand. When his muse struck he had a pencil in hand and would sketch out ideas, many several times over and in various aspects or views working towards capturing the full vision of his magnificent and powerful dreams. These pages highlight sketches and evolution towards paperback covers or inserts for pages within novels. There are many small quickly doodled sketches that capture so much action or emotion with a few simple lines while there are full pages of the most finely detailed and intricately exquisite worlds of wonder ever imagined. This book will thrill and delight the senses to no end!
Literally, I sat at home upon opening both of these books and in total silence I sat there mesmerized by page after page as I slowly turned the pages. Many times I would flip back to a page for another gaze as they were being burned into my mind. What a splendid dark night of shadows and light with a soft rainfall outside creating a perfect mood while sitting in a well lit living room perusing me newfound delicate treasures. These 2 books are going to be pored over by me again and again throughout this Christmas season as they take my mind and thoughts on a visual tour unlike any I have experienced before. Money very well spent for both of these and I cannot recommend enough to any and all how wondrously gorgeous these books are and that you should be ordering copies for your own pleasure. You will NOT be disappointed...
