Archie solicited their Dark Circle books for April. The coolest thing in my opinion is that each book in April will have a grindhouse movie poster variant by Chilling Adventures of Sabrina artist Robert Hack. Definitely getting all three of these: Looking forward to more Fox. I only recently realized that the original Fox was a young photographer with the initials P.P. who invented a special camera to snap pictures of the crime-busting he was doing as an animal-based superhero. More than 20 years before Spider-Man!

I FINALLY made it to my LCS yesterday to pick up my current pulls for the past 2.5-3 months.
I have, like, a 2" tall pile of currents I laid down to read and catch up on yesterday, and well, I'm caught up on Rat Queens except for the Braga issue, and that is IT.
The guy at my LCS somehow convinced me (not that it was difficult) to get Star Wars #1 when all I was really interested in getting was the Princess Leia book, but it's not out until March. My husband is interested in reading it and so is my son. I'm guessing I'll give it a go, but I'm really excited for the Princess Leia series. Waid is writing it? Yes, plz.

Waid also co-writes the Fox series I mentioned in the post just above yours. It's more all-ages fun, but the last series also had a lot of cameos of Golden Age Archie superheroes and meta-jokes. I think you'd enjoy it.

Was the Mulitversity issue for January already out and I missed it, or is it still coming up later this month, does anyone know? The only release date I can find says 21st Jan 2015, but I don't see it listed in next week's new comics.

I think the next one out is the Multiversity Guidebook which is supposed to come out on the 28th Ah, good, thanks. I've only bought a couple of these, is there any real sense of a continuing story here? It's been fun, don't get me wrong but with out any real forward momentum I'm just at a loss as to how this story ends.

There is a continuity in that it is different villains using the 'comic book' in their universe, unknowingly causing the "multiverse" to be at peril.

I'd say the series is about showing a 'snapshot' of these different worlds and the goings on and how this comic book interacts with their universe. I think only the first and last issues are really going to be where the various Earth's interact trying to stop the threat.

Yeah, like Earl said, each issue is a a snapshot of a different world/universe within the DC Multiverse, and some of them feel a bit sketchy. The last issue, Thunderworld (Marvel Family), was probably the one that worked best as a complete story on its own. I suspect the Pax Americana one does too, but I still haven't got my head around it. There isn't any obvious forward momentum at this point, but I would say that after 5 issues, or however many it's been, a cumulative effect is beginning to make itself felt: not so much as a continuing story, but as the same story manifesting itself in different ways throughout the multiverse. I think it'll read much better as a completed work than as a serial, and if I had my time back probably I'd wait for the trade, but now I've come this far I'll most likely continue buying the individual instalments. After some scepticism about the whole project in the beginning - I don't share Morrison's love for the DCU and its big iconic characters, and lost a lot of interest once I learned the New Gods weren't going to play a part - I find myself looking forward to each new issue more and more.

I stopped by the LCS the other day for the first time in quite a while, only because I had to stop by the neighboring hardware store anyway. I bought Wytches #2 and the newest issue of Walking Dead, forgot which one it's on right now. I think I'm officially a trade waiter now on most things, anything distributed by Diamond at least.

I got the first issue, and I really loved it and then I got the second pulp inspired one and it was fun but there wasn't much there connecting it to the first issue and some of the future solicits didn't sound like my thing so I decided I wouldn't miss anything by skipping around so I picked up Thunderworld which was probably one of my favorite books of 2014 and the sort of lampooning of the Guide to the DCU sounds fun so I'll probably get that but I'll probably skip the Mastermen issue and I'm still deciding on the Ultracomics one as it takes place "here" on Earth-33 and by the solicit it almost sounds like it could be some kind of choose your own adventure book.
