So I'm as confused as anyone, and I don't really read any current Marvel comics, but would it be possible that the two "earth" (616 and the Ultimate) collide in a battle and the result will just be a mix of both universe? So technically the 616 earth with morales as spider-man and a Samuel L. Jackson Nick Fury? Just to put their 2 universe together? Do I make sense? I'm not even sure… I think that the event is more about all the universes colliding, à la Crisis on Infinite Earths (and so including the MU and the Ultimate Universe, plus the Marvel Zombie thing and what have you) and that at the end there will be an opportunity to restart the MU from scratch. It probably will be the same MU as right now, but with the most egregious nonsensical bits removed, and with heroes looking much more like their movie counterparts. At least that's what I figure. And I so dearly hope to be wrong.

Oddly...it's possible to wait for the books to actually come out and you know what is happening in them before pissing and moaning about what is happening in books that haven't happened yet. Well, Slam, we're not talking about the books but commenting on what Marvel Editorial is saying: "After 60 years, this is the end of the Marvel universe". That warrants a little bit of pre-emptive bitching and moaning, I think. The concept of continuity-altering maxi-series has a very lousy history of delivering on its grandiose promises.

I'm not going to argue with your last point. And I'll be the first to say that Crisis was unnecessary and that they've been backtracking from it from before issue number 12 hit the stands. I guess I've just gotten to a point where I can't be arsed to care about Universal Continuity anymore. If a half dozen good titles come out of it...more for me to read. If none to...I'm not reading them anyway, so what the hey.

After 50 years of reading Marvel and DC, it was surprisingly easy to stop reading both companies' new products competely for the past year. From the last few pages of comments here, I feel I definitely did right by myself

Stopped by the bookstore today and got Afterlife With Archie #3 in magazine format. Now just have to track down the previous two issues. I have decided mags are the way to go with that series.
Also got the new issue of Hi Fructose, and almost bought a 1000 page Archie digest, but put it back at the last minute. It's a great value, but the pile of unread stuff continues to grow.

From the last few pages of comments here, I feel I definitely did right by myself By not reading Paxs Action, Waids Daredevil, PADs X-Factor, Soules She-Hulk, Willows Ms. Marvel, Moores Marvel Man, Hickmans Avengers, Millers Smallville, or the current Hawkeye, Multiversity, Justice League United and Silver Surfer plus the recent Adventures of Superman?

I'm much more likely to give some of those newer series a try now that I'm fully into Marvel Unlimited. I can justify it since I'm getting an entire archive for what comes out to around $6 bucks a month.

Oooh! Waid's Daredevil. <3
And I *do* want to check out the current Silver Surfer. But I'll trade wait Silver Surfer, probably, since I'll probably want to buy it in HC anyway.
I forget these books that are separate from Avengers and X-Men.

Im on your side buddy, but theres not a lot in your list that I would hold up as unmissable. I found that new xfactor lacking, jlu truly terrible, and action is pretty sometimes but incomprehensible. Hickmans Avengers is truly divisive, it seems to be a love or hate though I havent really decided personally. Daredevil, Miracleman, and Hawkeye are great, but Ive found Multiversity to be hot or cold. I would have added Aarons Thor, and Azzarellos Wonder Woman, 2 stand out books though WW has moved on.

The only thing "lacking" about that book was PAD's ability to continue writing it.

I agree with our antipodean friend on X-Factor - this run hasn't gripped me at all. Possibly not helped by Danger, Warlock and Doug Ramsay, characters I've got little to no interest in.

I have Marvel unlimited and there is a delay on the new issues. I'll buy the mini series off the stands and might jump off Marvel like I did to the Nu 52. I don't really like the Avengers anymore now that EVERY Marvel character seems to be a member.

Overall, I am closer to Simon Garth's assessment on the book that I would like to be; I wanted to love it but I only wound up liking it, despite it being a PAD book. The concept was interesting, but it just didn't seem to translate to the pages. As for Danger, the issue with her, Polaris, and Wanda at the Renaissance Fair was probably the high point of the series.
