I haven't read Millar in quite a while, but I heard a lot of good things about Starlight, which seems to feature the old Mark Millar. So once that TPB comes out, I'm giving it a shot.
Anyway, for this week: DARK HORSE COMICS MAY140032 BTVS SEASON 10 #5 MAIN CVR $3.50
DC Vertigo: APR140302 UNWRITTEN TP VOL 09 THE UNWRITTEN FABLES (MR) $14.99
IMAGE COMICS MAY140641 SEX TP VOL 02 SUPERCOOL (MR) $14.99
MARVEL COMICS MAY140911 ALL NEW DOOP #4 $3.99 MAY140882 STORM #1 ANMN $3.99 Pretty heavy week.

There's a 37th issue to Life With Archie? Is it just the second half of the double sized issue for people who got the comic book sized one?

Picked up Oni's Wasteland # 1-50 in a bundle for $ 24.99 ($.50 ea) by Antony Johnston and Christopher Mitten, and Ben Templesmith art on the first cover. "100 years after the Big Wet, Earth has been left a broken, infertile world of rock and sand. The town of Providens is like many others on the post-Big Wet plant - small, mostly illiterate, and struggling for survival. When the town welcomes a stranger named Michael into its midst, will the quiet man lead them to a brave new world or shatter what little order still exists ? From the writer and artist of Queen & Country : Declassified : Sons & Daughters comes a bold new ongoing series that bends genres and conventions in a way that only comics can!" Read the first 2 issues, in b&w, and have liked it. Never have read Q & C, and I can't say I've heard of Christopher Mitten before, but I like it. Also, 593 ratings give it 4 / 5. Wasteland is an awesome series. It hits a low point around issue 40 or so, when they have trouble holding onto a steady illustrator, but it's a short dip, and the original illustrator returns to finish off the series.

On a whim I did pick up the Devilers by Fialkov when I was at the shop today. Haven't had a chance to read it yet, but I'll post my thoughts on it when I do. I was on the fence about trying it and was going to give it a pass in an attempt to cut back on new stuff, but folks talking it up here re-piqued my curiosity, so I gave it a go at least for an issue.

Ok so read Fialkov's Devilers #1 from Dynamite....the story starts with the Vatican being destroyed and goes from there...the protagonists-a multi-faith team of individuals with various gifts gathered to fight a war with Hell...the story is interesting, an interesting premise, an interesting lead character, the supporting cast looks interesting but barely got introduced. A lot happens in the first issue and you need to catch up quick as it is a in medias res beginning, but it's not difficult to follow along. The art is good, not great, but solid by Dynamite standards. Good storytelling, competent layouts, nothing mind-blowing or incredibly innovative but technically sound and appealing to the eye. If Fialkov could have been paired with a master of horrific art like Tom Mandrake or Bissette/Totleben or the like, this could have been a dynamic competent instead of just a solid read. I liked it well enough I will be back for issue two though...

Just read the first two issues of Big Trouble in Little China and it's a lot of fun. It's picks up right after the film and it's everything you'd expect from Eric Powell and John Carpenter.

Anyone else read Loki: Ragnarok and Roll? Very cool mini series, I'd highly recommend it. It's an awesome version of Loki, and I totally didn't see the end coming.

Wow, this thread reminds me of some series I need to check out (Groo vs Conan!! Big Trouble in Little China!!)
While not "brand" new, finished a couple of great new TPB this week.
First, Ghosted volume 1 by Joshua WIlliamson and Goran Sudzuka. A supernatural "team heist" story. Enjoyed the story quite a bit and found the art to be somewhere between good and excellent. The 1st arc seemed like it would make a decent movie. Definitely looking forward to picking up the 2nd volume ASAP.
2nd was Black Science volume 1 by Rick Remender and Matteo Scalera/Dean White. Basically an PG-13 or maybe R rated version of Lost in Space, but involving parallel dimensions, set at a frantic pace. While the story involved a lot of pulp tropes there were some surprises in the 1st arc. Thought the artwork was excellent. Looking forward to volume 2 but it will be awhile.
Looking forward to making some progress on Velvet over the next week or so.

Looks like Wolverine is being added to the dead list... Stephen Harper will have a stiffy looking at that cover. But didn't Logan die and even go to Hell recently? Or was that just hype I read on CBR?
