Fairly often, Roy sends out requests for scans, photos, etc. for future issues of Alter Ego or his other projects. I thought I'd repost them here to give this community a chance to contribute. Here are his most recent messages:

- Wondered if someone would like to write a few hundred words or so on Earl Norem's life and career for ALTER EGO, for our flat token fee. Earl painted many covers for Marvel's b&w comics, esp. SAVAGE SWORD OF CONAN.

- Does anyone happen to have a photo of Conan/Almuric artist Tim Conrad, esp. from the 1990s or thereabouts? But a photo is the main thing...

- Wondering if anyone has a photo of Andre Coates, the artist with whom I worked on early issues of Marvel's SECRET DEFENDERS in 1993 or so. I'd sure love to print one!

- I was sorry to hear about the passing of my old colleague Alan Kupperberg. Is there anyone out there who could write a few hundred words or so of biography about him for ALTER EGO?

- Could sure use art from a few late-model stories I worked on for Marvel and a few others for AE #136. My gratitude, some credit, and a copy of the issue to the first person who can send me any or all of the following:

NIGHTMASK #7 (May 87) - page with a big panel of Nightmask in another, almost Ditkoesque dimension

WARHAWKS COMICS MODULE #1 (TSR Inc.) - a 3-panel page near the front which shows the 2050 war in full swing, with soldiers on ground, planes, tanks, a sub.

WARHAWKS COMICS MODULE #2 - next-issue ad at the end of the lead story, touting "Back to Byzantium" in #3.

WARHAWKS COMICS MODULE #4 - 2-page title splash, showing a female soldier parachuting into the Trojan horse incident.

WHAT IF V2#4 (April 1991) - splash page

Scans of the comics are what he's looking for; his personal copies of these comics are bound in hardcover volumes so they aren't good for scanning.

If you do have the original art, I think he'd be delighted with that, but he isn't expecting to get original art scans for all those pages.

Just taking a shot... in the early 90s I worked on Dark Horse's IRONHAND OF ALMURIC with a young L.A.-area artist named Mark Winchell. Lost contact with him after that. Does anyone know if he stayed in the arts... and is there a photo of him anywhere? There are doubtless too many Mark Winchells in the world to locate the right one without specific knowledge. Anyway, just thought I'd try, since I'd love to have a photo of him in ALTER EGO #136.

Hi List--

Starting to put together the lead interview for ALTER EGO #137, which
will deal mostly with Jim Shooter's early career, through the mid-70s,
though other things got touched on briefly, as well. I don't have
access to reprints of most of the DC material except the LEGION OF
SUPER-HEROES Archives volumes (and even there, I later need to get scans
from the original comics where possible)... and would appreciate a bit
of help and suggestions on which Superman and related material to show
in the issue... as well as early fanzine work (I have some of that
already, thankfully). Naturally, I'll be happy to send a copy of the
issue to folks who can help with scans that are used. Even just knowing
who has good, accessible collections of the 1965-75 Shooter work would
be of help.
