50 BEST DC Comics Costume Design - Silver/Bronze Age of Comics is coming in a 7 to 10 days from now - I'm not a big fan of both Silver and Bronze Ages because I find the Golden Age was far more superior because of design factor. I'm totally re-thinking the list and I took out over 10 characters that don't belong in it.
50 BEST DC Comics Costume Design - Silver/Bronze Age of Comics is next!
When the list is created - I'll revert back to my MechaGodzilla's Avatar!

Number One His power ring, powered by Starheart was amazing and he can do anything with it except on wood. As I recall, in the original Golden Age stories his ring's weakness wasn't restricted to wood; it was always said to be useless against "non metals", meaning if you hit him with a rock or a glass vase he'd be unprotected against it. I'm guessing it was later limited to just wood because of the rise in popularity of plastic in manufacturing; by the 1960s he'd have been defenceless against most household objects if the "non metals" rule had remained in place.

Scans of Green Lantern Part 3 of 3 "A costume that is so bizarre that once I am seen it will never be forgotten!"
Very prophetic words considering its placement on your list.
I like this outfit a lot and after reading his earliest adventures I really got the sense that his powers weren't so much sci-fi based as they were derived from the supernatural. There was a very Spectre-ish quality to his abilities - he could use his ring to walk through walls, read minds, erase memories, bend people to his will - it was almost as if Alan Scott never realized just how powerful his ring could be (one story had a criminal die moments after trying the ring on).
The cloak really lends itself well to that supernatural aura about him as does the lantern and whited out eyes in his mask (yes, yes, he didn't invent that look but it does still work).
Interesting little factoid: Mart Nodell who created the Lantern's look also designed the Pillsbury Doughboy.
I really enjoyed your review of these costumes MechaGodzilla and I'm looking forward to what's coming next!

Dr. Fate's costume is awesome! I would be comfortable with that as my #1. Imposing and mysterious, and I love the blue + yellow color combination. Green LAnter's costume is cool, too, and colorful, to say the least.
