Man oh man did they ever make up for that cliffhanger.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan IS Negan
Totally monstrous and depraved yet somehow still charismatic.

That was a gut punch.

No surprises there. Between reading the comics and getting some behind the scenes info that kind of pointed to the spoilers, the death toll was about what I expected. Curious to see where the season goes from here.

Is Negan still around in the comics? Yep As a matter of fact, just joined up with Rick and Co. to fight the Whisperers.

Given last week's events how that plays out will be so interesting to see on tv.
I'm wishing there was a colour version of the comic somewhere, the B&W is a bit off-putting to me so to speak.

Is it just me or is a really great episode followed by a complete doozy? I dig the big cat though.

What an incredibly lame episode
I guess Negan was "too hardcore" in the opener so they had to scale it back in order for all of the snowflakes to catch their breath.
Also, the CGI Shiva is a little lame. With the amount of money this show rakes in, they could've done better.

I can't say they disappointed with the resolution of that cliffhanger. If anything, I'd say they overplayed the suspense angle. Totally monstrous and depraved yet somehow still charismatic. He also played a mean Comedian. Also, the CGI Shiva is a little lame. With the amount of money this show rakes in, they could've done better. It worked for me. Out of the first 5 eps, my favourite moment is with Daryl in the cell, hearing Easy Street (so catchy).

No comments on the mid-season finale?

This is just my opinion: I found season 7 boring so far. Horribly decompressed pacing. Too repetitive. I just want the Negan story done. I find his character boorish not menacing. Move on to something more interesting. The finale? It was OK.

I love JD Morgan's Negan and it was a good mid-season finale; it was great to see the gang reunited. However, the first half of season seven was very poor in places. All those side-steps away from the main group just slowed the whole thing down after that high intensity opener. But it started on a high and finished on a high... so roll on February, where I imagine the gang will fight back.
